Q:坐月不能開冷氣嗎?
A:香港夏天炎熱又潮濕,產婦如果盲目跟從傳統坐月方法,不吹冷氣以致大汗淋漓會引起衛生問題,室內宜溫度舒適及空氣流通,只要將冷氣溫度調至24至26度,風口不會直吹產婦及嬰兒便可。
Q:坐月為甚麼不能碰「生水」?
A:老一輩認為產婦接觸生水,寒氣會進入身體,容易造成身體畏寒、腰背痠痛等病症,現代人可以調校暖水使用,洗手後立即抹乾便可。
Q:可以趁坐月時減肥嗎?
A:生產後不宜立即減肥,因為身體需要時間復原,胡亂節食可能會出現寒凝血滯、惡露未能排淨、或引寒氣入內而致風寒感冒、甚至眩暈等不適症狀,建議產後至少六個月後才開始減肥,適量進食健脾補氣袪濕的食材調理,配合運動及飲食健康瘦身。
Q:坐月時外出要由頭包到腳嗎?
A:坐月不鼓勵產婦外出,是因為要爭取時間休息,如果無可避免要外出例如到健康院覆診,只要注意保暖,不要被風直吹便可,因為中醫理論認為「風乃百病之長」,如果氣血虛弱的產婦著涼,會出現「月內風」症狀如頭暈、風寒、手腳冰冷等,所以預計到室內地方有冷氣就多帶件連帽外套吧。
Q:如果流產了也需要坐月嗎?
A:無論是自然還是人工流產,小產婦也宜坐小月讓身體慢慢復原,坐小月的飲食調補及生活起居注意事項基本上與坐月相若,應以平補方式調理脾胃、活血祛瘀、排清惡露,隨後配合體質,滋陰養血、強腰補腎,亦可趁坐小月期間疏導情緒,收拾心情。

Q:Can we use the air-conditioner during confinement?
A: The Hong Kong summer is warm and humid. New moms, who abide by the traditional confinement practices blindly, tend to avoid using the air-conditioner. They inevitably sweat a lot, and this causes poor hygiene. To ensure the enclosed space is comfortable and has good air ventilation, adjust the temperature of the air-conditioner to 24-26 degree Celsius. It is also important to make sure the cool air does not blow directly at the moms and the babies.
Q:Why should moms avoid touching water that is not boiled during confinement?
A: The older generation believes that once moms come into contact with unboiled water during confinement, the cold air would invade the body easily, causing them to suffer from aversion to cold and backache. It is actually fine to clean the body with warm water but make sure we wipe it dry after that.
Q:Can we take this opportunity to lose weight?
A: It is best not to lose weight after giving birth because the body needs time to recuperate. Improper diets can cause stagnation of the blood due to coldness in the body and lochia discharge to retain in the body.
Not having proper diets can also lead to attack from cold air pathogens and in turn cause new moms to catch a flu and cold or experience dizziness. You should only start your weight loss regime about six months later after delivery.
Do consume an appropriate quantity of ingredients that can strengthen the spleen, nourish the qi, and eliminate dampness from the body. You should also exercise regularly to shed some pounds in a healthier manner.
Q:Should we cover ourselves up when we decide to go out during confinement?
A: Women who are still in confinement should stay home and rest as much as possible, but if there is a need to go out, they must keep themselves warm and avoid being exposed to wind and chill.
According to Chinese Medicine theories, wind pathogen is the catalyst of many illnesses. Since moms during confinement are already have weak qi and blood, they may experience the symptoms of ‘yue nei feng’ in Mandarin (literally means ‘wind during confinement’) such as dizziness, common cold, and cold limbs. So put on a sweater or bring along an extra hoodie if the place you are travelling to is air-conditioned.
Q:Do we have to go through confinement after an abortion or miscarriage?
A: Be it abortion or miscarriage, going through confinement is necessary to help the body recuperate. Just like new moms after childbirth, it is important to eat and stay healthy.
Nourish the body to improve the functions of the spleen and stomach, invigorate the blood and clear blood stasis, and clear the lochia discharge from the body. Take this opportunity to replenish the yin and nourish the blood, strengthen lower back and nourish the kidneys, and above all, soothe your emotions accordingly.

停好車後,走在往園區的路上,對,有人確診的園區,欸好想走進海裡泡著。
一路眼睛盯著水溝,到了公司門口,還盯著花圃自動澆水的水管,那根有點細的水管,裡面出來的水還真是透亮透亮又源源不絕🌱
想去很深很冷的海域。
滿腦子都是Crystal bay的15度水溫,跟很深藍、很靜、氣氛詭譎,佔地又廣的Kyokuzan Maru 沉船(尤其近傍晚)。
竟然沒有想到任何一個Cenote,我明明這麼念念不忘洞穴裡的淡水,及隨便一道陽光灑下,就滿出來的光束。
人很想做某件事或是很想要成就什麼時;當渴望出現,心中或是腦裡就會浮現很多真心喜歡,一般沒什麼太在意的手邊事;又或是本來無法抉擇,當下立馬腦子清晰出現路的方向,大概就是這種邏輯。
不管是寵物、人、或是某件事、某個地方,除了他們本身的美好外,求的更是一種契合感。一開始新鮮,交流到磨合,慢慢習慣,逐漸產生安全感,因為是個舒服的存在,無不時就會想到。
所以,對我來說,愛沒有什麼不明原因,都會很清楚知道,喜歡什麼,愛什麼跟離不開什麼。
潛點也是這樣。

Couple dives in Crystal bay @Nusa Penida in Bali will do w/ its 15 degree Celsius and Kyokusan Maru shipwrecks in Coron. Water so blue, wreck covers vast area and ambient is somehow peculiarly peaceful especially in late afternoon.
Surprisingly not a Cenote appearing in my mind, thought I dig them, fresh water and the sun beam is enormous.
So when you really crave for any, life style, accomplishment, any, what you love and feel the best about would sort of come out, which mentally save you loads of time wondering. As getting along with people, pets or any we are connected to, love is full of reasons.

My Raya won’t be complete without chocolate chip cookies. It’s kind of like our kuih Raya staple. 🍪🍪🍪
I tried making this chocolate chip cookies by Modern Honey the other day, and it was a success (probably have to make smaller for Raya - this was just for testing hehe). I used Buttercup for this recipe as it gives a buttery aroma and great quality baked goods at affordable price. These cookies are crispy at the edges, chewy in the middle, and exploding with chocolate! Best part is, it’s SO easy to make.
Ingredients:
1 cup cold Buttercup, cut into cubes
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla essence
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp cornstarch
3/4 tsp baking soda
2 cups chocolate chips
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 200 degree Celsius.
2. Cream butter, brown sugar and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add eggs and vanilla, and mix. Then add in the flour, cornstarch and baking soda. Mix until combined.
4. Fold in the chocolate chips.
5. Line baking sheets with baking paper. Roll the dough into balls and place them onto the baking sheets (I just use ice-cream scoop tho).
6. Bake for 9-12 minutes and let them rest for 5 minutes to set before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.

ハニーバターチキン
2人分
材料:
鶏手羽元 10本
Aヨーグルト 100g
Aおろしにんにく 小さじ1
Aおろししょうが 小さじ1
A塩 小さじ1/2
Aコショウ 小さじ1/2
米粉 1/2カップ
片栗粉 1/4カップ
塩 少々
揚げ油 適量
パセリ 適量
■ハニーバターソース
酒 大さじ1
バター 30g
はちみつ 大さじ3
おろしにんにく 小さじ1/2
作り方:
1.ビニール袋にAを入れて混ぜ、手羽元を入れ、全体をよく揉み込み、30分〜1時間冷蔵庫に入れて漬け込む。
2.ボウルに、米粉、片栗粉、塩を入れて混ぜ合わせ、(1)にしっかりとまぶし、5分ほど置く。
3.170度の油で揚げ、ほんのりと色が付いたら一度取り出して5分ほど置いて余熱で火を通す。
4.再び熱した油に入れ、こんがりときつね色になるまで揚げる。
5.ハニーバターソースを作る。小鍋に材料を全て入れ、煮立ったら火を止める。
6.器に4を盛り、ハニーバターソースをかけ、パセリを散らして完成!
Honey Butter Chicken Wings
Servings: 2
INGREDIENTS
10 Chicken wings (400-450g)
A 100g Yogurt
A 1 teaspoon Grated garlic
A 1 teaspoon Grated ginger
A 1/2 teaspoon Salt
A 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
1/2 cup Rice flour
1/4 cup Potato starch
Salt
Frying oil
Parsley
■ Honey butter sauce
1 tablespoon Sake
30g Butter
3 tablespoons Honey
1/2 teaspoon Grated garlic
PREPARATION
1. Put A ingredients in a resealable bag, with the chicken wings, and knead well, put in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour to marinate.
2. Place rice flour, potato starch and salt in a bowl, and mix, use the mixture to coat the marinated chicken wings and rest for about 5 min.
3. Heat oil to 170 degree celsius to fry the wings, when they get slightly colored remove from oil and let them cook in the residual heat for about 5 min.
4. Place the wings back in the oil and fry until golden brown.
5. Make the honey butter sauce.Put all the ingredients for the sauce in a small pan and heat on medium high, once the sauce starts to boil remove from heat.
6. Place 4 in a bowl, pour the honey butter sauce on top and finish with a little bit of parsley.
7. Enjoy!

蘋果派是我請朋友來我家時常做的菜式,所以特意選了這個來做和大家Q&A的影片。剛巧蘋果派的餡料由蘋果加入不同的香料如肉桂、丁香、八角和糖煮成,濃濃的香料味就像提示我們聖誕節快到了。

這個短片第一次用一邊做菜,一邊回答問題的形式表達,我在準備的時候就像一邊和大家閒談一樣,雖然我們之間很多也未有見過面,在這個影片的製作過程中又好像跟大家的距離拉近了。大部份的問題其實在message已回了,如果沒有放在影片裏請見諒喔,這是因為片長有限而我是隨意將問題放上去的,如遺漏了的請不要介意再給我訊息喔。

製作蘋果派時有以下幾點可以留意喔。
.
* 牛油派皮在製作上,在角落的位置厚度比較難以弄得平均,如利用不同的模具壓平底部和週邊,可令派皮的厚度保持平均。
* 牛油派皮在多次擀皮後可能會軟化而容易付在保鮮膜上,如將麵團再放入冰箱/雪櫃一會,讓麵團變得硬一點又可再次塑型。
* 蘋果派餡用到大量的香料,如果家中沒有其中一款可以直接省去。之前我做的時後只用肉桂粉,今次加上肉桂枝和蘋果同煮,味道更香濃了。
* 在煮好蘋果派餡後可夾起同煮的香料,那便不會影響食感。

份量:直徑22cm烤盤
材料

蘋果批皮材料
.
中筋麵粉420克
砂糖130克
鹽一茶匙
牛油250g
雞蛋兩隻
.
蘋果批餡料
.
牛油10克
紅蘋果(小)6個
(去皮後淨肉大約600克)
砂糖80克
香草/雲尼拿精華一湯匙
肉桂粉3茶匙
檸檬汁一湯匙
肉桂枝一條
丁香兩粒
八角一粒
粟粉兩湯匙,用70毫升水拌勻

蛋液(掃上批面)材料
.
雞蛋半隻
牛奶/水半湯匙
做法
.
批皮
.
牛油從冰箱裏取出,待稍為放軟後,切粒。
牛油和砂糖放入攪拌機或廚師機,以中速(我家的廚師機最快為五度,這裏用二度)攪拌直至拌勻。
加入中筋麵粉以中速拌勻。
雞蛋略為打發後,分三次加入麵團內拌勻。
麵團形成後,分成兩半(批底及批面)用保鮮膜蓋著並塑形至長方型狀,以方便之後成批皮,以保鮮膜包好放在冰箱/雪櫃裏至少30分鐘至過夜。

麵團冷卻好後,從冰箱取出待略為軟化後,大約30分鐘,取出其中一塊麵團隔著保鮮膜用麵棍將麵團推開成大約0.5厘米厚批皮。
將批皮蓋在模具上,蓋著保鮮膜,用杯子或模具蓋平批底和週邊位置。放入冰箱,備用。

另一份麵團隔著保鮮膜用麵棍將麵團推開成大約0.5厘米厚批皮,?成一厘米闊的長條型,將麵團條做出辮子,做出網型並裁成模具合適大小,放在牛油紙上,放入冰箱,備用。

蘋果餡料
.
蘋果去皮,切成薄片。
在一個鍋子裏加入牛油10克,開中火,放入蘋果、砂糖、香草/雲尼拿精華、肉桂粉、檸檬汁、肉桂枝、丁香和八角,不時攪拌以防止結塊。
粟粉兩湯匙加入水70毫升拌勻,加入蘋果內,煮至沸騰。
關火後盛起,蘋果餡料可早一日準備放在冰箱內,令蘋果更有香料味。

組合
.
焗爐預熱至180攝氏度。
雞蛋略為打發,和牛奶/水拌勻。
批皮和批面從冰箱內取出,分別均勻擀開。批面擀開後切成一厘米闊長條,編成格紋。批皮放入模具,蘋果餡倒入批皮內,上面蓋上批面。
在批面掃上蛋液。
註:如麵團擀開後變軟,可放在雪櫃/冰箱中待略為凝固後才繼續製作。
放入焗爐以180度焗一小時,直至表面金黃。在週邊蓋上錫紙以防止燒焦。
蘋果批從焗爐取出後放涼,切件後享用。

Baking tin with 22cm diameter
Ingredients
Apple pie crust ingredients
420g all purpose flour
130g granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
250g of unsalted butter
2 eggs
Apple pie filling ingredients
10g of butter
6 small size apples (about 600g after peeling)
80g granulated sugar
1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
3 teaspoons of cinnamon powder
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 cinnamon stick
2 cloves
1 star anise
2 tablespoons of corn starch, mixed with 70ml of water
Other ingredients
1/2 egg
1/2 tablespoon of milk or water
Directions
Pie crust
Take out the butter from the fridge. Cut it into cubes.
Put the butter and granulated sugar into the blender or kitchen machine, blend with medium speed until it is well mixed. Add all purpose flour and mix well.
Beat the egg, put into the dough in three batches.
After the dough is formed. Split the dough into two. Roll the dough in rectangular shape. Cover it up with plastic wrap and put it into the fridge for 30 minutes or overnight.
Take out the dough from the fridge and let it warm for a while . Roll it to 0.5cm thick. Put the dough on the baking tin and cover with plastic wrap. Press the dough evenly with a mold or a cup. Put it into the fridge again and save for later.
Roll another dough to 0.5cm thick. Cut it into stripe and make the net. Put it on the baking paper and store in the fridge and save for later.
Apple filling
Slice the apple.
Put 10g of butter in a cooking pot. Turn on the heat to medium. Put sugar, vanilla essence, cinnamon powder, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise and stir it to prevent it clogs.
Mix the corn starch with the water and put it into the apple. Cook until it boils.
Turn off the heat and cool down a little bit.
The apple filling can be stored in the fridge for later use or it can be used right after it cooks.
Assemble
Pre-heat the oven to 180 degree celsius.
Beat half egg and mix well with 1/2 tablespoon of milk or water.
Take out the pie crust from the fridge and put the cooked apple inside. Cover with another pie crust on the top. Brush with the egg wash.
Bake the pie for 1 hour in 180 degree celsius. Cover the edge with tin foil to prevent it burns.
Cool the apple pie in room temperate for a while after baking. Cut it into slice and serve.

German pancake - dutch baby
3 large eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup milk, warm
1/2 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter to grease the pan
Mix all the ingredients above and then bake at around 210 degree celsius for about 15 mins.
