My biggest gift in life is the kids. But my biggest source of frustration is also the kids.
In need of some hugs and kisses because the past few days have been tough as I battle tears and thoughts about how I can't seem to keep the family together, what I've been doing wrong as a mum, how I can't seem to inculcate basic things like kindness, politeness and respect, or how I might not be suited to be a stay-at-home mum anymore.
Yup, just one of those periods that make you reflect on yourself, your life and every single thing you are doing. I don't think it's wallowing in self pity, but more of ruminating and letting the negative emotions sink in instead of constantly blocking them out and pretending they don't exist. I do have these days every once in a while, nothing to be proud of but also nothing to be ashamed of.
It's just life.
The next time you have a bad day, just remember that it's never a smooth-sailing road for other mums out there too, no matter how many picture perfect snippets of their lives you might see. We all have those days, we all need to let it out, we all need to pick ourselves up and find our bearings, we all need to weather the storm to get to the rainbow.
