Many people ask me how I got into photography as a lawyer 7 years ago.
�The nature (and the time commitment of course) of my corporate legal job did not suit me at all, and I was constantly stressed and lost. But for the sake of a false sense of security, I stayed until I was qualified.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The final push came when I switched to a US firm after I qualified. Things got worse, and I started developing thyroid and immune system issues. I knew then that it’s way past the right time to leave.
�Many of you actually tell me you can’t quit because you don’t have a passion that you can develop into a career.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But here’s the truth - I quit without knowing I would become a photographer.
�When we are so overwhelmed with our corporate job, we don’t have the mental or physical capacity to develop self awareness, let alone find or develop where our passion or gift lies.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I took a few months off back then to reset, and during this period simply pursued what my heart wanted to do.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And as my mind and timetable cleared up, I was able to gain more clarity and give space for things to unfold.
