「把所有的不甘心都轉化為明天的動力。」「我盡力了。不完美總是存在著，才有動力去追求更好的結果。」這是林昀儒和戴資穎在奧運賽後的發文，感動每一位觀眾。
運動不僅僅鍛鍊肌肉，也鍛鍊品德。關於這點我們也可以從英文字源中看出一些關聯。英文中的美德「virtue」便是翻譯自古希臘文的「arête」，這個希臘字的本義就是「卓越」的意思。
追求卓越是讓人感動、也為心靈帶來快樂的美好的品德。
在追求卓越的路上，運動員們努力跑得更快、更久，讓肌肉變得更強壯，他們抓住每一次突破自我的機會，體驗克服痛苦與努力奮鬥不懈的特殊喜悅。
當面對遺憾，他們對自己說：「下次再努力就好了。」這是從不斷的挑戰與勝敗中體悟出的智慧—— 那麼簡單，卻如醍醐灌頂。
簡單是一種智慧，所謂大道至簡嘛，越是樸素的，越是永恆、真正有用的道理。當我們越是理解某件事，它也就越不複雜。由繁而簡，事實上需要一點天分及很大的勇氣。
蘇格拉底曾對學生們說：「你要相信我的經驗，只要身體健康，面對任何磨難你都不會吃虧。」
追求卓越是我們與生俱來的天性。如果要展翅高飛，就必須去除那些把我們往下拉的重量。這次看著東奧我突然明白了，四肢發達（鍛鍊身體）、頭腦簡單（簡單思考）也正是我們面對人生挑戰的最佳狀態。
