▎一份特殊奧運送給洛杉磯的禮物 ▎
洛杉磯即將在月底迎接2015年世界特殊奧運會Special Olympics，尋求1984年洛杉磯奧運於101、110高速公路繪製壁畫模式，三個深具紀念意義的大型公共藝術已於近日空開見客，今後將為我們的生活帶不一樣的色彩，有機會近身感受一下他們的力量~
位於1248 South Figueroa St.，由Cryptik創作的傳奇拳王Muhammad Ali 肖像，配上多位特奧運動員和倡導者激勵人心的經典語錄。
Flores的作品則烙印在洛杉磯紀念體育場Coliseum，紀念的是擁抱多樣展現包容的世界級領袖人物，社會運動者Martin Luther King Jr.，以及特奧創辦人Eunice Shriver等人。
Twichell在1147 South Hope St.則是向十項全能選手Rafer Johnson和特奧會運動員Loretta Claiborne致敬。
The 2015 Special Olympics World Games are set to open in Los Angeles this month & three new large-scale murals, a fantastic gift to the city of Los Angeles, have been created to celebrate the event as a nod to the 1984 Olympic Murals (101, 110 Freeways).
The three murals created by Kent Twitchell, Cryptik and David Flores were installed "to celebrate the spirit of what will be the world’s largest sports and humanitarian event in 2015."
Flores' "World Stage Legacy" mural at the Coliseum, "includes historical figures who have appeared at the coliseum and embrace the ideals of diversity, such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Eunice Shriver, the founder of the Special Olympics...Flores pays tribute to the 2015 Special Olympics World Games and events that have taken place at the Coliseum throughout its more than 90-year history."
Twitchell's mural on Hope Street is homage to beloved athletes Rafer Johnson & Loretta Claiborne and a great addition to the existing murals in vibrant South Park. "Located at 1147 S. Hope St. in Los Angeles, Twitchell’s piece Special Olympics Monument is a double portrait. Rafer Johnson, an LA icon and Olympic gold medalist as well as founder of Special Olympics Southern California, stands alongside Loretta Claiborne, a successful Special Olympics athlete and motivational speaker."
Cryptik's mural, "located at 1248 South Figueroa in Los Angeles, "The Greatest" features a large-scale portrait of boxing legend Muhammad Ali and multiple plaques with inspirational quotations from Special Olympics athletes and advocates. Visitors can move up close to the piece to explore the words and connections."
