"No Ordinary Life" tells the story of five pioneering camerawomen who travelled the world for CNN while filming some of the most important and dangerous events of the past few decades. The documentary, which had its online world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, details the lives and careers of Jane Evans, Maria Fleet, Margaret Moth, Mary Rogers and Cynde Strand. Each one is a legend who braved the front lines of natural disasters and conflicts from behind their cameras, in a male-dominated field.

Please join me at the Foreign Correspondents' Club Hong Kong for a screening followed by a Q&A with director Heather O'Neill and Cynde Strand, one of the trailblazing journalists featured in the documentary.

The 2021 Taiwan Festival - Literature Strand will host talks from contemporary Taiwan authors, Shawna Yang Ryan and Wu Ming-yi and academics, Dr Gwennaël Gaffric, Dr Ti-han Chang, and Prof Niki Alsford showcasing a range of Taiwan Literature covering topics of climate change and migrants.

Register on Eventbrite to book your place. The roundtable will take place on Microsoft Teams. As such, there is a limit of 200 viewers.
