MINDA OVER MATTER - PROTECTING YOUR MENTAL HEALTH DURING CRISIS
Social distancing, strict movement control orders and virtual meetings have become the new normal since the COVID-19 outbreak last year and the pandemic has been taking a toll on people's mental health. Studies have also shown that the number of people thinking about suicide could increase, given that the pandemic has been continuing for over a year and there seems to be no end in sight.
Amid this situation, our local government and NGOs across the nation are working on suicide prevention measures to protect the lives of the people out of concern that social isolation and economic difficulties could lead to an increase in the number of suicides and mental depression.
On this special episode of #SundayNightWithAH, we are going to have a special session moderated by Ainie Haziqah between Happy Bank Crew (Rehanna Razif as representative), a local based Malaysia NGO and Marina Che Jaafar, a mother and mental health advocate to talk about the importance of increasing the understanding around mental health awareness and putting to a stop on the stigma surrounding it.
Head over to our speakers respective IG account at @ainiehaziqah, @happybankcrew and @cjm4rina this Sunday, 11th July 2021 at 8:30pm!
See you guys there!

Yes, ithis is indeed the pride of Sarawak, Alena Murang! Not only she's talented in music, she also has something to say to us. Her message for all of us is that there is just too many taboos or "pantang" surrounding mental illness. People are scared of talking about it, and some are even scared of knowing about it. Maybe you think it's nothing, but it is this very "pantang" or stigma that is keeping those with mental disorder from seeking proper help.
Thank you so much Alena Murang for your shout out!
But guys, if Alena is doing this much for us, what about you? It's time to sign up for the #stopthestigmarun!

Depression is becoming a topic that we all tend to stray away from. But I guess it's time we acknowledge the problem and actually do something about it for a better and brighter future.
