🦞Maine is launching its first-ever Maine Lobster Week today! During this week, which ends on National Lobster Day in the United States, various restaurants in Maine team up to offer special menus featuring lobsters, from iconic lobster rolls to creative new dishes, turning the state into a heaven for lobster lovers!
Eighty percent of American lobsters are hauled in from Maine, where lobsters have large meaty claws and are a culinary icon and economic powerhouse, employing thousands of Mainers and contributing more than $1 billion to the state’s economy each year. Taiwan is the fourth largest buyer of American lobsters, contributing $11 million to the American lobster industry! Thank you, Taiwan!
