'HELLKNIGHT61' ได้สร้างม็อดนามว่า "D O O M" โดยมีคุณสมบัติเป็นการเพิ่มเนื้อเรื่องของ DOOM ภาคต้นฉบับ ไปใส่ในเกม Age of Empires II พร้อมเปลี่ยนเกมเพลย์จากแนว FPS กลายเป็นแนววางแผนแบบเรียลไทม์

มุมกล้องเป็น Isometric Camera ที่เคยได้รับความนิยมในเกมวางแผนยุค 1990 โดยม็อดนี้จะให้คุณควบคุมเป็น Doomguy ต้องต่อสู้กับเหล่ามอนสเตอร์ให้หมดสิ้น ซึ่งการเล่นเกมจะคล้ายกับแนววางแผน RTS หลายเกม คือต้องใช้เมาส์คลิกไปที่มอนสเตอร์ เพื่อทำการโจมตี และคลิกตรงพื้นที่ต่าง ๆ ให้ตัวละครเคลื่อนไหวตามคำสั่งของเรา

Doomguy ในเกม Age of Empires II มีสกิลประกอบไปด้วย "Sprint" ทำให้ตัวละครเคลื่อนไหวเร็วขึ้น และระหว่างการเล่น สามารถเปลี่ยนไปใช้อาวุธปืนชนิดต่าง ๆ ระหว่าง Standard Shotgun, Double Barreled Shotgun, Rocket Barreled Shotgun, BFG และ Soul Cube ได้อีกด้วย
