I never had a dream wedding dress. It actually took me ages to think about what kind of dress I wanted. But I knew immediately who I wanted to make my dress. Amore has been making dresses in Bangkok for over 25 years. Located in Sukhumvit Soi 39, Ms. Khem was THE dressmaker for all the stars in the 90’s when I started my career. She dressed me for all my red carpet events- she even made my prom dress. Fast forward to when I moved back to the US, we completely lost touch. Fast forward again to when I moved back to Thailand 2 years ago, I moved into soi 39 and there she was; Amore’s shop still in the exact same place. As soon as Mika proposed last October, I knew I had to go see her; At least to say hi and ask if she was still making dresses. Sure enough she remembered me AND remembered that I had asked her, once upon a time, to make my wedding dress. In May (2019) I sent her my inspirations and the dress she made me is my absolute favorite dress ever and it means the world to me that she was the one to design and make it for my wedding day 💞💍👰🏻

This year, it's all about red, red and more reds! *curtsies*

If you're wondering what's the crimson brouhaha about, please allow me to explain.

The Chinese believe that red symbolizes good fortune and joy. This is why you see red hues everywhere during Chinese festivals. My mom always says it's a very auspicious color and if I wear red on the first few days of the Lunar New Year, I'll "huat" (prosper) all year round.

Even though we barely scratched the surface of 2016, it has already been a very rewarding year with our Disney-themed wedding being featured in major news outlets such as Refinery29, Metro, The Knot and many more.

Not to forget my Creme Simon interview on Channel 8. I can't thank everyone enough for the amazing opportunities.

And of course, I would definitely love to extend the lifespan of my good fortune. :P

So to amp up the 'huat' factor in the Year of the Fire Monkey, I wore wine red dresses, scarlet lips and even donned cherry lashes for our holiday gatherings! Haha!

I went to bed with a camera next to me so when I wake up, I can film the whole process. I actually had trouble sleeping because I had a terrible migraine so I woke up looking extra tired. My skin isn't in best condition either because I had an allergic reaction to the makeup used on me for our PreWedding Photoshoot. Hope you guys don't mind ^^

To be honest, I had no idea how I was going to do my makeup, hair or nails. I didn't even plan what I was going to wear either so it was actually really fun to do everything on the spot without planning. Let me know if you guys like these types of videos. Hope little Chubbi and Domo made you smile too!

Bubz, why are you wearing white to a Wedding?
I actually wore a cream dress and I wore a pink jacket (which I never took off) to break up the light tones. However, might be worth mentioning the bride actually wore many many dresses throughout the night of different colours. I remember seeing a gold dress, then two white dresses and two red gowns. If this is the case, us girls wouldn't have been allowed to wear a lot of colours lol. In Hong Kong/China, a lot of the brides wear up to 7-8 dresses and from what I know, it's not a problem for guests to wear white. To be honest, even in my actual wedding day (for the Western Ceremony etc), I don't think I'll be too bothered either? But maybe that's just personal preference.
