Spent the evening with my parents and we gathered for some mooncakes after dinner. Of course, my foodie daughter came running over after she saw me open the box of pretty pastels, “cakes” she exclaimed!

Technically she isn’t wrong because moonCAKE. 😂 Every pretty mooncake here is handmade with no preservatives. Arielle had a quarter of the smooth lotus seed paste. Just that because on the inside it’s a chocolate shell with different liquor! These are @paradisegrp’s Fruity Liqueur Snow Skin Mooncakes collection; Japanese Yuzu with Sake, Passionfruit with Choya, White Peach Crème de Peche and Red Cherry Griottine.

Aaron was looking at the mooncakes at every shot, hoping we give him some maybe. Sorry son, 1 more year maybe!

Rare weekday lunch date with Alvin over dim sum. We have been lunching in for so many months, Alvin has been WFH since February!

We decided on an early lunch at Paradise Teochew for dim sum. I love truffle but Alvin not so much but he enjoyed the Steamed Black Truffle Char Siew Bun, which truffle wasn’t overpowering. My favorite on the innovative dim sum menu was the Steamed Cheong-Fun with Sesame Sauce. It was so good, so soft and flavourful! We also ordered the Deep-fried Prawn with Toast that was super crispy. It’s 30% off Takeaway Food Bill and 20% off Dine-in Food Bill

My Japanese friends sent me a parcel of high-end ingredients from Hokkaido and inspired me to cook a meal for my family with all ingredients in the box.

This is the menu I came up with:
- Corned beef lettuce wrap
- Stir-fried kelp ramen with scallop
- Sea cucumber soup with shiitake mushroom
- Steamed Nanatsuboshi rice
- Salmon congee (for kids)
