埃及海軍近日在塞浦勒斯與希臘進行 「MADUSA 8」聯合演習，海空軍進行直升機起降訓練，由CH-47D和AH-64D在西北風級兩棲突擊艦起降，這個模式值得台灣參考
Peculiar footage
AH-64D Apaches of the Al Quwwat Al Jawwiya Il Misriya (EAF, Egypt Air Force) as well as AH-64DHAs and CH-47Ds from the Elliniko Aeroporia Stratou (EAS, Hellenic Army Aviation), with support from Cypriotic military forces, recently operated from the Egyptian navy’s Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) amphibious assault ship Anwar El Sadat (L1020) for the first time.
The helicopters embarked the (French built) Mistral class during exercise MEDUSA8, a joint Naval and Naval Aviation training off the coast of northern Egypt and near Cyprus and southern Greece.
Egypt is probably using some of its Apaches as a gap filler until the navalized version of their purchased Russian Ka-52 is ready for use.

雖然香港軍事力量有限，但加上與歐美、英聯邦的聯繫亦能令敵人有一定顧忌，否則當年中國便能無所顧忌入侵香港。
想多點瞭解香港軍事，特別是華籍英軍在保衛香港的角色與歷史，本人推薦這本《老兵不死 － 香港華籍英兵（1857-1997)》。

1967年暴動期間，香港陸軍服務團共有1,300名華籍英兵，另有約500名華人海軍與輛助空軍人員。該年7月，沙頭角發生中共民兵向香港邊界警崗開火的事件，造成五名警員殉職。事後，英軍派出踞喀兵前往邊境防衛，華兵則主要擔任邊境哨站和後方的運輸、邊境村落的情報工作、監察對面邊界的軍事活動，並與邊境居民打好關係。

97前香港有否國防？當然有。
有人說，香港無軍人，無人願意當兵，這個講法當然是錯。
97年前，香港除了有皇家香港軍團（兼職軍人）外，正規英軍中亦有本土香港人部隊（華籍英軍）。
《老兵不死 － 香港華籍英兵（1857-1997）》一書，不同於傳統由上而下的大史觀去編寫，而是從軍人的角度去講述香港軍人百多年的歷史。資料及相片不少是由退伍老軍人提供，內容包括：香港軍人與英籍軍人的情誼，戰前香港人為保衛香港而踴躍參軍的情況，二次大戰時由香港軍人組成，遠赴印度，再到緬甸作戰的「殲敵」特種部隊－香港志願連，以及本地軍人戰後的行動等內容，資料彌足珍貴。
對於有興趣瞭解97前香港軍事與本地軍人歷史的朋友，此書值得一看。
