【Startup Adventure】Superwoman－Taking care of children and business💪

How can women entrepreneurs balance business and family at home?

As an entrepreneur and a mother, working from home during the pandemic, have you encountered:
👉halfway through work, kids rush in to find the mom?
👉kids study online at home but get distracted all the time?
👉how to use digital technology to manage business and employees remotely?

The Women Entrepreneurship Program invites mentors and a mentee of Academy for Women Entrepreneurs, including
✨Penny Wu, the President of BXB Electronics Co., Ltd.,
✨Viola Cheng, the CEO of Good Food Enterprise Co.,Ltd
✨Ashley Fan, the Co-founder of Orice Co. Ltd.,

Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (#AWE) was initiated by the U.S. Department State and jointly implemented by the American Institute in Taiwan and the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The program has recruited 133 female entrepreneurs, who will receive mentoring from 11 successful female entrepreneurs, attend events, and complete online courses. We hope that more women will become entrepreneurs in the future❤️

Exploring healthcare innovation for the latest CNN #TechForGood, I'm wearing a VR headset to delve into the life of Beatriz -- a grandmother with progressive Alzheimer's Disease.

Using the technology, I find myself not only better understanding the profound effect Alzheimer's has on her daily life, but actually FEELING her experience on a visceral level -- her anxiety, her uncertainty, her fear.

California-based Embodied Labs creates such immersive tech to better train caregivers and to normalize conversations about geriatric health and aging. I'll soon share our interview with its founder Carrie Shaw. She describes how her own experience as a teenager caring for her mother dealing with early-stage Alzheimer's propelled her to create Embodied Labs and "change the world we ourselves are aging into." She is truly amazing. As is her tech.

I have made no secret that out of everything I have experienced so far throughout Motherhood, breastfeeding and pumping remains one of the most difficult things that I have had to do thus far. The pain, the fear of mastitis, the discomfort of engorgement, worrying about not producing enough to feed my baby... and the list goes on. But despite all these obstacles, as a Mother I still want to try my best to provide for my children, so I persevered.

With both my daughters I relied heavily on pumping to provide them with breastmilk. Pumping meant that I could feed my daughters breastmilk and all the goodness that comes with it, whilst also allowing myself to get back to a somewhat normal routine and plan my day around my pumping schedule. It also means Daddy can step in to help with feeding when Mommy really needs to rest 😅 The breast pump is one of my most used items, which is precisely why investing in a good one is so important (用過你就知道品質高嘅重要性). When it comes to baby products, there are so many choices out there it can be overwhelming. However, as a second time Mommy, I learnt from the past and knew that all I need is 一個效率同舒適度一樣咁高嘅奶泵!

With Elia, I decided to try out a new pump and finally settled on the Philips Avent double electric breast pump as its design is inspired by the baby’s natural feeding movement - Natural Motion Technology - which closely mimics the way a real baby feeds (真係好似親身餵緊咁，糅合乳頭刺激同奶泵吸力，所以更快更有效率🥇). This unique feature can stimulate and help to express more milk in less time. Plus its soft cushion padding on the breast shields makes pumping much more comfortable. This is extremely important to me, because let’s be honest, all Mommies want to get pumping done as quickly as possible so that we can spend more quality time bonding with and cuddling our little ones 🥰
