As a health consultant, the past 2 years have made me realise more than ever that many people with diabetes in Malaysia are struggling with the effort to get their glucose level under control. I have also seen how my mum struggled when she was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes as she was ageing. She had to prick her finger frequently to measure her blood glucose and monitor her balance food intake (input) every day, and make sure she had enough exercise (output).

The problem is, getting enough exercise can be challenging, leading to an increase in blood glucose levels among people with diabetes. Recently, when I saw Glucerna for those with diabetes, I thought, why not? Let's get my mum on this 4-week #BeInControlWithGlucerna programme.

It’s Monday!
Let’s kick Monday blues together by setting the tone for this week RIGHT!
Plan a good workout - the one u enjoy!
Fuel your body with delicious but nutritious food - think about colourful veggies like beetroots, spinach zucchini and red capsicums! Rotate your protein source too!
Make smaller changes to help you progress & keep u motivated - eliminate process food during breakfast. Say no to chicken nuggets, sausages, hash browns, and highly process pastries! Skip our traditional Malaysian breakfast meal too! Think about having free range eggs & salad. Veggie chicken wrap or fish fillet without highly process bun!
Don’t forget to have long warm to cool shower to destress & refresh our body.

Post Covid: How to Get Back in Shape (4 Weeks Exercise Guide) | Joanna Soh
This video is meant to offer you a guideline on how you can get back into exercising after Covid-19, for those who have had mild to moderate symptoms. While exercise is important for your health and recovery journey, it is also essential to AVOID pushing yourself too far. Doing so could slow down your recovery or cause your symptoms to worsen by increasing the levels of inflammation in the body. So listen to your body, take it slow, and follow these 4 phrases by gradually reintroducing exercise into your routine.
If at all you have any concerns, ALWAYS refer to a health care professional for advice.
I’ve included 4 exercises for each week, a total of 4 weeks. Try to exercise at least 3 - 4 times weekly. All the workouts are home-based with minimal equipment.
