The well-known operetta Die Fledermaus (The Bat), composed by Johann Strauss (1825 -1899 Vienna) over a two-year period from 1873 and is entirely frivolous in nature. The plot is utterly silly and humorous, focusing on mistaken identity, flirtation and a practical joke that has rather unexpected consequences. This operetta was a big success in its musicality and drama which ensured that Strauss was inspired to go on and write operetta after operetta over the next 25 years.
This arrangement is based on the arrangement I found on www.flutetunes.com by Joyce Kai with my own adaption for the bass line and some changes for the flutes (and the bells).
