I'm not particularly fond of receiving flowers but I do love gifting them. In a sense, I think I am more of a practical person who prefers receiving presents that are lasting or functional, like a handmade card or a frying pan. That said, I do acknowledge the power of a beautiful bouquet and I've seen how it can brighten up a home and bring joy, comfort and solace. Many of my good friends love flowers and even my daughters said that they love them too because "Flowers are pretty" and "Flowers make me happy".

As my girls grow up, I wish to let them know that it's perfectly okay to have their own likes and dislikes which might be vastly different from mine or from each other. I want them to know that as individuals, they have the freedom to choose their own paths in life and write their unique stories too. So even if they love things that I never felt affection for, like flowers, durians and creepy crawlies, by all means, go ahead.

Recently, I decided to present the little girl with a surprise bouquet because I wanted to congratulate her on receiving her first Edusave Merit Award. I wanted her to know I was so proud of her and despite the award ceremony being cancelled, she is already a champion in my eyes. Read my post on the blog today to find out how the big sister and I surprised her, made her feel special and shared a special moment that we will always remember.

There was one thing which made me disappointed when the Circuit Breaker was first announced on 3rd April. Oddly, it wasn't because of full home-based learning for the kids or that we were required to practise safe distancing measures and stay home. That, I assumed I could deal with because being a SAHM for over a decade has trained me up pretty well. It was because there was something I had been looking forward to and I realised that we might have to put it off for months till the pandemic blew over.

You see, we had booked our family photoshoot session with Bloom Photography​ and it was supposed to take place a week later on Good Friday where the hubby could join us. For weeks, I had been thinking of what we should wear since we were allowed to have two outfits and what accessories the girls could bring along. They had been feeling enthusiastic about it too because it was their choice to have an outdoor shoot instead of a studio one and they were very much excited to be doing it for the first time in Botanic Gardens followed by having a good time in the park. Well, I guess things just don't always go as planned, right?

So I immediately dropped Bloom Photography a note after the announcement and casually asked if we could do it over the weekend before the restrictions came into place. Truth be told, I was just trying my luck and wasn't really expecting a yes. To my pleasant surprise, they were extremely swift to respond and after contacting their photographer, Su Wen, we agreed that we would do it the very next morning, which was in exactly 14 hours or so. Yippee yay yay!

This had to be one of my best birthday presents this year because whenever I looked through these photographs, every one of them just feels so precious to me. Yup, I turned 37 on the very day CB started on 7 April, what a memorable year, right? It has been over one and a half years since we did our last family photoshoot and I can see the huge change in each of the kids. Time really flies when you are a parent, I'm sure you already know that by now. That is also why I love being able to capture these happy moments and turn them into lasting memories. I still can't move on with how cute was the Althea Korea @altheakorea pop-up booths and obviously all their must have beauty products!💟 The urge to take back all Voir @voirmalaysia handbags was real. Their bags are trendy and just suit my style, and it has been since I was a teenager! 💃👛

I was also excited to discover @signaturemarket wholesome food, nuts and healthy products since I'm on my healthy diet plan 🥗 Love their products. I'm a flower girl. Avantgarde Blooms roses make me bloom instantly, I can't hide my love towards flowers especially those big beautiful petals @avantgardeblooms!🌹

The place was full of big cute teddies and I decided to drink the delicious cold brew coffee & chocolate @curmudgeonsbrew right there and then! I love the taste, not sweet, just like what pure chocolate should taste like!☕🍫 I also tried Mango Tea by Lerz @lerzmalaysia and the tea was perfect with the fresh mango bits!🍹

The party was a bomb with the mouth-watering dishes by Jom Party @jomparty. It was colourful, beautiful and of course tastyyy!😋 Thinking about the dinner decor that night makes me feel like I need another party, it was pretty and romantic!💘The event ended perfectly with a brilliant performance by @sidhaizadyusoff. He swayed us with his talented voice and the butterflies had so much fun at the end of the evening🎶

I was definitely thrilled to end the night with and added experience, Painting Party🎨 I drew something interesting and will share it in my blog and post soon. It was an amazing experience as I managed to enjoy myself and met new friends. Thank you so much to the organiser and all the sponsors and butterflies I've met! 💖 Luv💋
