#上湯煎粉果/粿 Fried Fan Gou Cantonese style, dipped into Soup with Chinese Chives.【#富豪金殿 Regal Palace, Regal Hotel, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong】Ex Michelin 1 🌟 in the late 2000's.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but I have written not only here multiple times over the years even before my IG or Blogging days, but also this Unique Dim Sum recipe served elsewhere too! 😜 Here they do serve one of the best versions in Hong Kong 🇭🇰. Historically
•陸羽 Luk Yu
•翠亨邨 Tsui Hang Village
•鳳城酒家 (北角) Fung Sing
•福臨門/家全七福 Series
•益新美食 Yixin
•翠園 Jade Garden
•禦寶軒 Imperial Treasure, which my last visits didn't come with soup dip
,etc
Are famous. If u want to remember them then please save this post, who knows if Hong Kong or East Berlin gets bombed by cross-fire or Delta 2.0 Covid suddenly kills us all here.. 😢 Plus I don't always re write the comparison shops again except when a few years have re-passed in cycles
There are others that might be better or worse which are outside of this original Repertoire, or I might have forgotten which is always possible 🙆. I am sure I haven't tried all of them, but they would be based on these recipes somehow as it's been selling for at least 60 Years since Guangzhou 廣州 > Hong Kong 香港 days, but somehow skipped thru Macau side 🎉🎉 So don't ask me where else is good coz some do them still, apart from the above, and suddenly if they try to revive an old recipe it pops up out of nowhere, but here is one of my favorites over the past decades 😂😂😎

I am a 100% Cantonese. Both late Grandfathers came from China Guangdong Province. Growing up with my late Grandma aka Poh Poh was one of the best things since I was born. She inspired me a lot in many ways. She was quite a cook too. Being a Cantonese, soup is a must in our daily meal. She cooked the best soup ever. She used charcoal to cook soup in a clay pot. OMG, I really do miss my late Poh Poh's sweet dessert soup aka Tong Shui too!! So I really want to share her recipes slowly but surely with u all. This is one of the easiest tong shui she cooked for us. Let me show u how.
Ingredients for 6 small bowl servings:
. 18 water chestnuts, peeled and diced
. 2 eggs
. rock sugar
. 1.5 litres of water
. pandan leaves
You can serve it warm or cold.

If there’s one pop singer to represent cantopop, it has to be Kay Tse. Her teams, her public personality, her sensibility as a singer, her SONGS, they gave me comfort, inspiration, strength to keep writing and singing in Cantonese.
How about an exclusive livestream by the end of May just featuring her songs? What numbers do you want to hear?
I have quite a few personal favorites: 你們的幸福 / 3/8 / 我在陽台上看你 / 人妻的偽術 / 後窗知己 / 一(係,我唯一一首寫俾佢嘅歌)/ 沐春風 / 載我走 / 神奇女俠的...
Let me know what you think...

This is a clip from my January 19, 2011 interview with China Central Television (CCTV), back when I was just a wee student at the University of Chicago and way, way before I got popular on YouTube. It’s a real blast from the past and I hope you enjoy. The hopeful optimism expressed here is really touching and heartwarming and it’s a shame relations between China and the United States have gotten so strained.

The whole restaurant industry in New York City has been devastated by COVID and Chinese restaurants have been particularly hard-hit. So I wanted to give them a nice tip to show them how much we love and support them here at Xiaomanyc! Especially because it's Chinese New Year and it's a perfect time to give these restaurants some nice red envelopes. If you would like to get out there and support these NYC restaurants yourself, here are links to their pages on Yelp. Most are located in NYC’s Manhattan Chinatown. They are all awesome and highly recommended!
