You are gods and sons of the Most High

“I and the Father are one.” Therefore Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?” The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God.” Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods?’ If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture can’t be broken), do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’ If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me. But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works; that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”” (John‬ ‭10:30-38‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The Jews charged Jesus with the sin of blasphemy when He declared “I and the Father are one”, putting Himself on the same level as God.

Their argument was that a man cannot be God.

This is untrue because Jesus who is God, became a man. He is fully God and fully man.

Instead of trying to explain it that way, Jesus quoted Scripture:

“God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods. “How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked?” Selah. “Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.” They don’t know, neither do they understand. They walk back and forth in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken. I said, “You are gods, all of you are sons of the Most High. Nevertheless you shall die like men, and fall like one of the rulers.”” (Psalms‬ ‭82:1-7‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

In the psalm above, human judges are called “gods” and “sons of the Most High” because they have received authority from God to pass judgment upon His people.

However, God reminds them of their mortality by saying that they might have the office of a “god”, but they will still die like men, and fall just like any ruler in history, no matter how rich or powerful.

Jesus argued that if God called men “gods”, then why are the Jews accusing Him of blasphemy, if He is really a man who was authorized and appointed by God to judge mankind, on behalf of the Father.

“For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires. For the Father judges no one, but he has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent him.” (John‬ ‭5:21-23‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

In Christ, the Old Testament Scripture finds perfect fulfillment. Not only is Jesus a God-man, He is also the rightful Son of the Most High.

Jesus paved the way for us who believe in Him, for us to be born again in His image, as gods and sons of the Most High.

“And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” (Galatians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

God designed that every creature produces offspring after its own kind. A lion’s seed produces a lion cub. A sheep’s seed produces a lamb. If receiving and believing God’s seed (His word) caused you to be born again, then you are born as a god. You are a son of God, and an heir of His kingdom.

To the natural mind, this sounds too good to be true, like blasphemy. That is why the Gospel must be spiritually discerned. It is only through the Holy Spirit that we can understand and believe this good news.

“Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:13-14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The new creation in Christ is neither male nor female. Our born-again spirit is totally different from the children of Adam.

“For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring and heirs according to promise.” (Galatians‬ ‭3:26-29‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Being a son of God is not about gender (male or female). Before Jesus became a man, He was a spirit without a body, and already a Son.

Sonship is about position—being an heir who has authority and a stake in God’s kingdom. That is why even if you are a new creation in Christ living in a woman’s body, your spirit is still a son in Christ—it is about the position of the spirit, not the gender of the body.

Born-again believers will all receive new glorified bodies at the Rapture, and these will conform to our reborn spirits.

Can you declare this: “I, the spirit dwelling inside this mortal body, have been born again as a god and I am a son of the Most High. Just as Jesus had authority from God to proclaim the Gospel and work confirming signs and wonders, I too have received the same authority from Christ. As a royal priest to God, I shall use this God-given authority to help the weak, poor, fatherless, oppressed, and reach them with the good news of Jesus Christ!”

Jesus Came to Fulfill, Not to Destroy

““Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill. For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.” (Matthew‬ ‭5:17-18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Even though I write that we are not supposed to keep the Law of Moses today, I am not calling the Law evil or making it seem like something bad.

The Law shows God’s holiness, revealing that only perfection is acceptable to God. Anything short of God’s glory is unrighteous.

Jesus did not come to destroy the Law. He didn’t say, “Oh Israel, I guess this is too hard for you to keep. It’s okay, let Me snap My fingers and cancel this Law. Let’s forget about it okay?”

No, Jesus came to fulfill the Law on our behalf. The requirements of the Law can be summed up by the following verse:

“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul who sins, he shall die.” (Ezekiel‬ ‭18:4‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Sin is a crime that demands the penalty of death. God is holy, so He must punish sin.

However, God also loves us, so how can He spare us and yet justly punish sin?

The answer is the cross. God the Father placed all our sins upon His Son Jesus Christ, and punished Him fully in our place, so that the wages of sin which the Law requires was fully paid by Jesus’ death. The divine, sinless blood which He shed is worth much more than all the sins of the world throughout the passage of time.

So for us who have faith in Jesus, the issue of sin is settled. We are forgiven. He has fulfilled the Law’s requirements on our behalf, making us righteous.

However, the Law will not pass away until God creates a new Heaven and new earth at the end of time. The Law still has a purpose to be met.

“For there is no partiality with God. For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without the law. As many as have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it isn’t the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified (for when Gentiles who don’t have the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying with them, and their thoughts among themselves accusing or else excusing them) in the day when God will judge the secrets of men, according to my Good News, by Jesus Christ.” (Romans‬ ‭2:11-16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

At the Great White Throne judgment, Jesus will sit as judge, and the unbelievers will be judged based on their conscience if they are Gentiles, and by the Law (Ten Commandments) if they are Jews.

Jesus has record books of their works, and will measure out the appropriate degree of punishment before they are cast into the lake of fire. Each unsaved soul will experience a different level of torment based on the works they have done in their lifetime. Of course, the one screaming the loudest will be Satan.

“I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them. I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation‬ ‭20:11-15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

After that final judgment, when all humans, fallen angels, and Nephilim giants have been judged and sentenced to their appropriate eternal abodes, then the Law will pass away. At that point in time, all things will be accomplished, and eternity will begin. Christ shall reign supreme and be all in all.

For us who believe, the future is bright. Read this passage which will happen after the Law has passed away:

“I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more. I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.”” (Revelation‬ ‭21:1-4‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

IMPORTANT REMINDER: why did she become an ex? because she is EXperienced! let go and start! Appreciate those who appreciate more. if it wasn't a good love before. it's time to prove we can be the best love! Let go.. start a new story that can be the most beautiful story for children and grandchildren. God willing.

Situation 3: TESTED WITH ATTITUDE
temptation: suddenly engagement becomes too sensitive, angry, less patient

IMPORTANT NOTE, when you want to marry. Definitely putting us in a stressful level. Because there's a lot of things to think about, settled. Added to the feeling of commitment (feeling like a husband, wife), so he becomes more care. Simple things become complicated. The devil has added a dose to cancel the good things. It's getting more exploding! Patience.. this time everyone has to play a role. You won't settle things in anger. Invite to pray, to study. take ablution. When two two are calm. Discuss without emotion. the important thing is. Remember the original intention! Married because of Allah. Look at the problem. Discuss the discharge. Don't focus on the cause. lower your ego and learn to accept and listen. insyaAllah will be better than before fighting.

Situation 4: TESTED WITH HOUBT
temptation: do you want to marry him? but why?. don't you feel young anymore? Many more ambitions to achieve? Are you ready to be a wife? and etc

This one is all natural. Married because I want to accept Allah. If you want to chase the world, until when will we stop chasing? maybe we die running after him. Stop thinking negatively! No one is ready. The most important thing is try to be ready. Seek knowledge (read books, talk and others). Is it a question that I can't be a wife or a daughter that's the experience. Repair from mistakes. example, cooking is not delicious, after this fix the cooking. We won't be perfect. But we can work hard, right? Change the mindset!

Temptation II: is it true that I want to marry him. If you want to say (rich or handsome or good or good or....) that A person looks better than my fiance

This is a partner even though we clearly see the shortcomings, his weaknesses, we can't hate. even though her face may be full of acne and others. We feel calm looking at it. When you fight, you still feel like being together. Praying to Allah so that the love of him will be stronger, the love of Allah is stronger

Situation 5. PRESSURE OF FAMILY & FAMILY OF FUTURE HUSBAND

Temptation: When you know the family of future couples, setting up dowry, etc, there may be a terrible sense of their decision.

No matter what, we don't judge someone too quickly while we don't know them completely.
Family, feeling hearted in the family, starting to feel right to my mother-in-law will like me, is it true that my brother-in-law will be willing to me, this is all from the devil who always haunts us to cancel our good intentions

Situation 6. STARTING TO BE CAREFUL

After all sorts of tests came over, some of them started to give up and weren't interested in continuing the engagement period.

Situation 7. EMOTIONS ARE NOT STABILOUS

Some are not happy to sit down when tying the engagement rope. Sometimes sad, angry, too happy, and some keep thinking of his fiance while some have long known his own heart.

When you're friends, you might not feel how serious this relationship is, and how committed you are to a marriage that's about to happen. So, maybe this reason makes you restless and anxious.

Situaso 8. AFRAID OF WRONG DECISION

Actually, as Muslims, we have to believe that all the challenges during engagement that come are from Allah, as a test to His servants.

Therefore, no matter what the challenges when engaged happen, we should always accept and ask for help from the Almighty. Truly, Allah knows more about something we don't know.

In addition, try to get closer to Allah before we set foot in the household, in preparation of being the leader and mentor of the family institutions that will be established.

For the longest time, before I started my YouTube channel, I was worried that I'll be judged by the public for my accent. I was worried that my North American friends would judge me for having a Malaysian accent, and I was worried that my Malaysian friends are going to think that I have a fake American accent (now that I think about it, it feels ridiculous but I was there!)

So I didn't get started - yes, the fear of judgement and not knowing what language to speak actually held me back from launching my channel. I totally understand how scary it is to start your YouTube channel - to put yourself out there and available for the public to criticize. And I also understand the struggle of wanting to use a language you are familiar with, or a language that can potentially reach out to a bigger reach.

Alright this’s going to be a fun episode. It’s the first video that I speak English to my Vietnamese people - and heck, I’m not that ready to do this.

How can I talk to native English speakers with an accent. Will they judge?
By now you know that I’m not a native English speaker. I was born in Vietnam and only seriously learnt English in tenth grade or so. That’s why it’s naturally that I have an accent. It means that the way we talk is not as natural as native speakers do.

That’s why many of you DMed me and asked if people judge when you talk like this - or how I can talk confidently with an accent - I guess.

The answer is you - talk. Passionately. And don’t hold back.

But think about it. A lot of people say that they are not confident in speaking because they are afraid that people will judge them. They use it as an excuse to not learn English and speak in the first place.

Most people don’t even try. They keep thinking in their head that people will judge them. And they would never get better so they stop and they never learn.

So my friends, just talk. Talk passionately. Talk with all you have. There’s no how-to-talk tips or tricks. You just have to try. You just have to put yourself in the situation that you must talk. A lot. I guess that’s the secret. You must put yourself in situations that you must talk, a lot!

Let me give you a few examples.
Back in high school, I enrolled in this TOEFL class and every other day, the teacher would ask us to listen to tapes of conversations in English. I listened to them then write them down word, by word, by word. We literally use the cassette player because the teacher was kind of old-school cool that way. I had this big-ass SONY cassette player and every day I would tick … tick przz. Then in class, he would make round. Each of us will speak out loud, in front of the class each sentence.
But I knew that each session, I could only speak probably five or six times. That’s not enough. So I asked the teacher, if he could spent a few minutes each session to review a tape in which I pre-record all the conversations of that class.
That’s one way I did it. I put myself in the situation that I was held accountable by the teacher, that every session, I would submit my speaking cassette to him. And he was so kind to expect that and spend the time to help me. But here’s the thing, most people don’t ask. Most people don’t put in the work.

Another example,
All the years I was in college, each semester I would have a Math class with this specific professor that I like so much. But in the first period of my entire college life, he talked so fast with a lot of terminologies that I had no clues what they mean.
I was confused and overwhelmed so at the end of the period, I stayed and wanted to approach him to ask how I could do better. Would I be able to catch up with this class. And it took me seriously nearly five minutes just to go and talk to him because heck I was afraid that he would judge me, right?
But I forced myself to go talk to him and ask for his help. And he said I would be just fine. Go get this book and do some readings and he would help me as well.
The way he taught was so cool. He made each Math problem as an opportunity for students to present the solution in front the class. And guess what I did?
I knew that I would be shied. I knew that I was scared. I knew that I spoke terribly and I had an accent. I knew that I’m afraid that the whole class would judge because of my accent.
this. I’m still trying to get better. That’s why till this day, I record myself teaching something, speaking if not every day then every week.

You just have to talk. A lot. Every day.
