The historic Central Library Goodhue building was constructed in 1926 and is a Downtown Los Angeles landmark. It received the National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation's highest honor given to museums and libraries for service to the community.

The original Los Angeles Central Library with designed with influences of ancient Egyptian and Mediterranean Revival architecture. The central tower is topped with a tiled mosaic pyramid with suns on the sides with a hand holding a torch representing the "Light of Learning" at the apex. Other elements include sphinxes, snakes, and celestial mosaics.

The interior of the library is decorated with various figures, statues, chandeliers, and grilles, notably a four-part mural by illustrator Dean Cornwell depicting stages of the History of California which was completed around 1933.[18] The building is a designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

馬爾他舊城區

歐洲的爭戰史有許多海島征服戰，戰爭的多樣性比起亞洲豐富許多。

常常會有些野史，一群傳教士或一群士兵來到了哪些島建造了哪些國度，然後就留下許多偉大的歷史建築。

馬爾他的位置在歐洲歷史上是非常重要的戰略位置，但在歷史的重要程度似乎不足以寫進亞洲的教科書裡，所以很少人認識這個國家。

照片裡是在馬爾他很漂亮的一座小古城，保留的也都很完整，至今還有250居民在這裡居住。
.
這座舊城池真的很漂亮，如果不是時間限制，我想，我們應該可以在這裡拍個半天以上，太好拍。

The specific location of Malta is very important of the war between Europe, but we know very few about this country, maybe there is no outstanding historic event occurred here.

This picture is in a historical small castle which is the old throne in Malta, they built the castle on the hill to overlook and secure their territory.

The old castle has good remaining, every corners are beautiful as a painting, if there was a time limitation, we will stay there for half day or more.

台南是一座歷史名城，作為台灣首府的時間，長達200多年，為期在17到19世紀之間，而第一個在這裡蓋城堡的是荷蘭人
Tainan is rich in history. It served as the capital of Taiwan for over 200 years during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. But the first people to build a castle here were the Dutch

1624年，荷蘭人在安平所蓋的熱蘭遮城，如今，只剩下一小部份的城牆被保留下來，而這裡在台南的國定古蹟中，有著很重要的歷史地位。
In 1624, Dutch colonists built Fort Zeelandia here in Anping. Today, only a small part of the fort’s original walls still remain, marking an important historical legacy.

現在安平古堡是一處熱門景點，其中最經典的白色暸望台，更是遊客們必拍，且一定會標記打卡的地方
Today, Anping Fort is a tourist mecca. Its iconic white tower is a classic spot for visitors to take pictures and “check in” on social media.

除了全台灣第一座城堡之外，荷蘭人也建造了全台第一條街，正是如今的延平老街。
Besides building the first fort in Taiwan, Dutch settlers also built the island’s first street, now called Yanping Old Street

接下來的景點，在安平的國定古蹟中，也是不能錯過的，那就是億載金城，建於1874年的億載金城，也是台灣第一座現代化的西式砲台
There’s another major historic site in Anping that you can’t miss. the Eternal Golden Castle Built in 1874, the Eternal Golden Castle was Taiwan’s first modern, western-style artillery battery

阿姆斯壯大砲當時就是佇立在這裡，據說重達有18000公斤，我們現在看到的雖然是複製品，不夠也是夠嚇人的了。
The Armstrong cannons that were stationed here reportedly weighed 18,000 kilograms each. The ones here now are replicas, but they’re still enough to scare someone.

億載金城的大砲，確實也發揮了嚇阻敵人的功用，完成時代的任務後，這裡曾被荒廢過，在經過重建和整修，不但重現了當年的風采，也激發出很多新的點子
The huge cannons at Eternal Golden Castle served to deter attackers, but after the castle had completed its original mission, it was abandoned. Now, after a period of rebuilding and renovation, its old splendor has returned, together with several newer touches.

這場「大砲秀」，是億載金城特地為觀光客準備的，不過只有在假日的整點才會上演哦！
This is the “cannon show” that the Eternal Golden Castle puts on for tourists. But it only happens on weekends, during opening hours on the hour.

有著說不完的故事，是安平讓人著迷的地方，舉例像1867年，安平被迫對外開港，吸引了世界各國的人，來此做生意，而此棟原英商德記洋行，便是當時五大洋行之首
There are so many captivating stories about Anping from so long ago. In 1867, Anping was forcibly opened to foreign trade. People came from all over the world to do business here, and Tait and Company was the biggest of the five major foreign trading firms working here

這古蹟雖然相當有特色，但是它的倉庫，反而是最吸引人的，不信的話，跟著我去瞧瞧！
The building is really unique, but it’s the company’s old warehouse that actually attracts the most visitors. Don’t believe me? Come take a look!

被棄置了近半個世紀，任由榕樹寄生的老舊倉庫，直至政府設立了安平港國家歷史風景區，這個獨一無二的地景藝術，才被規劃整修且對外開放
Over half a century of disuse, banyan trees have completely taken over the warehouse. It was only after the government set up the Anping Harbor National Historic Scenic Area.It’s unique and remarkable piece of living art was restored and opened up to the public
