車手無車鬥？不如上網鬥 🏎️。這就是武漢肺炎 🦠 下賽車的手臂延伸。大瘟疫蔓延全球之際，各大商業或娛樂味濃的體育比賽 —— 大至奧運、小至公園耍太極都被延遲、取消甚或禁止，惟有哪項反而蓬勃起來？
電競（一部分）。電競賽車比起其他「體育系電競」的獨特之處是：職業車手本來就用 iRacing 以及其他「軍事級」賽車模擬器來真正練習，電競賽車本來就不止是娛樂。英超與 NBA 球星都會打 FIFA 20 ⚽️ 或者 NBA 2K 🏀，但那不可能是練習，這是根本上的不同。
誰說電競賽車在瘟疫下跑出？沒有人說，是數據說。據 🇺🇸 美國 Nielsen 市場研究數據 💻，美國 FOX Sports 三月二十二日直播 NASCAR Pro Invitational Series 電競賽車，錄得 90.3 萬收看人次。根據電競分析師 Manny Anekal 在 Twitter 說，這是美國電視史上最多人看的電競賽事。去年在美國 FOX Sports，真實的 NASCAR Cup Series 比賽平均每場 210 萬人次觀看。OK，那麼大西洋彼岸的 F1 呢？
根據《Motorsport Broadcasting》引用 🇬🇧 英國 BARB 市場研究數據，英國《天空體育》旗下三個頻道直播 F1 虛擬格蘭披治巴林站當日，共錄得超過 20.82 萬收看人次，是天空體育在三月十六日當周最多人收看的節目。這當然超越該台所播放 F2 及 F3 的收看人次，亦比去年透過該台觀看 Indy 500 的平均人數 17.2 萬為多。此外，還有在 FB Live、 YouTube LIVE 以及 Twitch 觀看的 27.9 萬平均人次。F1 的虛擬格蘭披治巴林站有麥拿侖 F1 車手羅利斯（Lando Norris）、Formula E 車手雲當（Stoffel Vandoorne）、前 F1 車手 Nico Hulkenberg、Esteban Gutierrez、Anthony Davidson 與一眾名人例如歌星 Liam Payne 與奧運場地單車六金得主 Chris Hoy 等參賽。
這代表甚麼？老實說，我不知道。我不是專家。我只知道，美國 FOX Sports 三月底宣布以後逢週三晚推出一系列 iRacing 電競賽車節目。我只知道，香港 FOX SPORTS Asia 下週一（四月六）0300 至 0530 直播 F1 Virtual Grand Prix 第二站。我只知道，有收視就有市場，有市場就有價值，有價值有就贊助，有贊助就有獎金 💰，有獎金就有更強選手參賽，有更強選手就有更高收視，有更高收視就有更有價值。我只知道，這就是咩色經濟圈。
從前 ABB Formula E 被認定無得搞，現在第六季的 Formula E 是 FIA 國際汽聯旗下擁有最多車廠參賽的錦標賽。從前有個阿爺問阿爸：你有波唔踢，居然喺電視睇人踢波？阿爸答：我踢唔到 C 朗咁勁，咪睇 C 朗囉；後來那位阿爸問阿仔：你有機唔打，居然上網睇人打機？阿仔答：人哋一秒十六連擊我唔得，咪睇囉。我只知道，都是娛樂。

On April 12, Taiwan's CPBL (confusingly named, the “Chinese Professional Baseball League” 中華職棒大聯盟) became the first pro baseball league in the world to start its 2020 season. In this episode, we catch up with journalists Jacky Lee and Adam Wang on the innings and outs of the CPBL and on the history of Taiwan baseball.
Jacky is a contributor to Fox Sports Taiwan and Eleven Sports. Adam, for the past three years, worked in the U.S. writing about Taiwanese players in the American Major League Baseball.
