For the past decade, people in China have been keeping live fish, turtles and other amphibians as souvenirs on their keychains. These plastic bag charms are sold for $1-2 each and there’s just enough oxygen and nutrients in the bag to allow the animal to survive for a short time and then when the animals die a few days later, these charms are then simply thrown away in the trash. What’s sad is that China actually does have a Wild Animal Protection Law, But these animals are not wild and thus fall outside the scope of the law. Thank You Taylors University-ADP School for organising yet another Paw Science 101 : A Cause for Paws-a program aimed at raising awareness of the plight of stray animals on campus and to limit their population in a humane and compassionate manner

With all stray dogs & cats on campus spayed & neutered last year,Taylor’s University is puppy-free this year! How amazing yes?! 😍
