不過，即使由熟人介紹對象也不見得一定成功，像 Jeon 經由朋友介紹，在短短 4 個月內參與了 10 次相睇，他說：「有一種說法是，有些人即使相睇 100 次，也找不到合適的人，我開始認為那可能就是我。即使朋友為我和他們認為與我合拍的女性牽線，事情也從不像計劃好的那樣發展。」
因此，他決定改變方法，並下載一款媒人應用程式 SKY People，在數個月後，終於找到現任女友，更已到談婚論嫁的地步。與一般交友應用程式不同，SKY People 只有在南韓或外國頂尖大學就讀的人才可以註冊。此類程式的用戶可以目標為本，依據教育、職業、收入及家庭背景等因素找尋另一半，並由程式充當媒人。
當朋友、家人及普通交友應用程式的推薦不起作用時，專業介入尤為重要，所以婚介機構也在南韓流行起來。這些公司會利用電腦系統，為客戶與他們年齡、長相、職業、教育及家庭背景最合適的對象牽線。除了收取費用外，機構還要求會員提交有關證明文件，以證明其單身、家庭狀況及專業背景。
