AIT Director W. Brent Christensen congratulated GE Gas Power and TPC during the contract signing ceremony for the Hsinta power plant, awarded in September for the largest procurement of gas turbines and related equipment globally in 2020. GE Gas Power with its local consortium partner, CTCI Corporation, will work together to build TPC’s 6,500-megawatt (MW) Hsinta and Taichung combined cycle power plants. The United States is eager to assist Taiwan in its energy transition away from coal toward clean sources of energy, including LNG and renewables.
