Oops. Immediately after the race I was caught up with being upset about missing the podium by 22 seconds. My mind kept replaying the race over and over, arrowing the points where I could have shaved off those 22 seconds.

But after the stinging faded, I realised I was being very myopic about this. It was a hard race and there were many things for me to be proud of.

Yes it would have been nice to bring home some shiny metal, but there's so much for me to take away here.

I believe I've given my best. In hindsight it's easy to say, "Oh I could have this, I should have that", but when you're out there, everything hurts like f*ck.

What touched me was having friends and family say I will always be a winner to them anyway, and then I felt better instantly and started feeling grateful for their love and support.

There's always another race, another time to come back stronger. I guess I needed this kick in the ass too, for slacking at times when I shouldn't have.

Did a short run this morning just to make sure the legs "stay awake"; looks like it's gonna be a hot hot race as usual! The run route had some rolling hills/slopes and we are gonna do 3 rounds of it, time to bring on the pain lo! 🤣🤣🤣 #cheryltayworksout #ironman703bangsaen #IM703bangsaen

Done with the last brick training before heading into Ironman 70.3 Bangsaen, whew!! This week has been tough, but I've also discovered new depths to myself and now to wait for showtime!
