A phrase thrown around so frequently, but to understand its relevance, you need an understanding of what is happening internally.
-
Our body is made up of a system of pivots and levers. These are pulled and stabilised by various muscles in order to move us and various mass forms against the draws of gravity.
-
Where the centre of the mass sits relative to the application of force (and vector of it) and the pivots being levered drastically affects the force required by the muscles internally in order to create movement.
-
Muscles produce force.
Muscles grow to produce more force as an adaptation to the stimulus of being taken near their limits of being able to produce force.
-
If the goal of your exercise is to move as much of a certain mass as possible through a set of rules then yes, you’re a powerlifter or crossfitter etc, and I guess progressive overload to you is all external. There’s nothing wrong with that, I salute and stand in awe of those capable of doing so with staggering amounts of weight through their hard work, consistency and beautiful segmental proportions + muscle insertions. Focus on external loads is sport though.
-
If the goal is progressively increased internal force requirement from a muscle group, then we need progressively increased torque requirement at a joint. This MAY come from more mass, or, depending on how the increased mass affects the movement and resulting moment arm, it may not. Equally, the torque requirement can be manipulated, increased (and often improved, if we consider the accompanying joint strain) just by changing the influence of other joints or better aligning the intended muscle fibres... or THE RANGE moved through.
-
Range is so much more than just range of external motion or even moment arms. It’s range of contractile lengths available to a muscle, that will almost always face increasing mechanical disadvantage past a certain point (think bone angle) - often drastically increasing the torque due to a reduced relevance of the internal force vector to the momentary direction of movement.
-
Yes, it’s semantics. A ramble. Is it a relevant one? I don’t know - do you get paid to think about exercise at the highest level?

The global economy's centre of gravity shifting towards the Southeast Asia market has been making Vietnam with a population of over 100 million and now in a period of golden population structure the world's top destination for foreign direct investment (#FDI).
The authority proposed the strategy for attracting FDI in 2009 and has actively engaged in international cooperation, regional economic integration, and signing Free trade agreements (#FTAs), which anticipate to create economic growth and promote the development of domestic high-tech industries.
Viettel and Vingroup, two major telecom companies in Vietnam, have worked on 5G networks commercialization. The demand for equipment for the 5G network and the internet of things (IoT) have been expected to increase and there could also be an opportunity for Taiwan Innovation application service provider.

เทคโนโลยีใหม่ล่าสุดของ The All-New 2019 BMW 3 Series โชว์ระบบ Digital key และถอยหลังอัตโนมัติ (reversing assistant)
The new BMW 3 Series Sedan is picking up more speed on its way to its market launch in the spring of 2019. The BMW M GmbH is now presenting an extremely dynamic model variant of the new sports sedan. The BMW M340i xDrive Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 7.5 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 172 g/km*) is powered by a newly developed straight six-cylinder petrol engine with 275 kW/374 hp. Together, high engine performance, M-specific suspension technology and intelligent four-wheel drive provide for outstanding driving dynamics that are unparalleled in the midsize segment. The exceptional sporty character is underscored by model-specific design and equipment features. The Los Angeles Auto Show (30 November – 9 December 2018) will serve as the setting for the world premiere of the BMW M340i xDrive Sedan. The market launch will commence in the USA in July 2019, followed by Europe in July.
Acceleration, cornering dynamics, agility, precision, braking – the BMW M340i xDrive Sedan is setting new benchmarks in all areas relevant to driving dynamics. It makes consistent use in particular of the vehicle concept of the BMW 3 Series Sedan, which is oriented towards sporting driving pleasure and comprises a low centre of gravity, optimised weight, well-balanced axle load distribution as well as increased body rigidity and uprated suspension mountings. Moreover, the suspension technology and aerodynamics are precisely tuned to the new power unit’s high performance characteristics. In addition, the M Sport suspension, variable sports steering, an M Sport differential, the M Sport brake system and 18-inch M light alloy wheels with mixed tyres are all standard equipment features for the BMW M340i xDrive Sedan.
