Capcom ได้เปิดเผยในรายการ Platinum Titles ที่เป็นการระบุตัวเลขยอดขายของเกมต่างๆ ในบริษัท ว่า Resident Evil 7 ในตอนนี้ทำยอดขายรวมได้แล้วถึง 7.9 ล้านชุด ขึ้นแท่นเกมที่ขายดีที่สุดเป็นอันดับ 2 รองจาก Monster Hunter World ที่ทำไปได้ 16.1 ล้านชุด และเป็น Resident Evil ที่ทำยอดขายได้มากที่สุด โดยแซงหน้า Resident Evil 5 และ Resident Evil 6 บนคอนโซลยุคที่แล้วเป็นที่เรียบร้อย

ที่น่าสนใจคือ Resident Evil 2 Remake ตอนนี้ก็ขึ้นแท่นอันดับ 5 เกมขายดีที่สุดของ Capcom ด้วยยอดขาย 7.2 ล้านชุด และคาดว่าน่าจะสามารถแซง Resident Evil 7 ได้ในอีก 2 - 3 ปีข้างหน้า

ขอย้ำอีกครั้งว่า ใน Platinum Titles จะนับยอดขายของเกมแยกตามแพลตฟอร์ม กล่าวคือ Resident Evil 4 เวอร์ชัน Wii, Resident Evil 4 เวอร์ชัน PS2 และ Resident Evil 4 เวอร์ชัน PS3/XB360 จะนับเป็นยอดขายของ 3 เกมแยกกัน ดังนั้น ยอดขาย 7.9 ล้านชุดของ Resident Evil 7 ก็ถือว่ายังได้ไม่เกินยอดขายของ Resident Evil 5 และ 6 หากนับรวมทุกแพลตฟอร์มที่ทั้ง 2 ภาคนี้วางจำหน่าย
