【29年後，你想對自己說什麼?】

29年，對地球而言不算長，對人類而言則是一個世代。

到2050年，我們這個世代的決定，將決定萬物與地球的未來。

國家間或許或有爭執，但是大家的共同目標，就是透過減少碳排放，來降低氣候變遷的速度。

在4/22 #世界地球日 的這天，總統 蔡英文 Tsai Ing-wen 宣示台灣正積極部署在2050年達到淨零排放目標的可能路徑，「#2050淨零轉型」不只是全世界的目標，也是台灣的目標！

昨日，外交部吳部長在 #台捷氣候變遷 圓桌論壇致詞表示，氣候變遷不僅是環境問題，更是全人類安全與國際和平的重要課題。台灣目前積極發展再生能源等綠能建設，相信與其他國家在綠色議題上也能深化合作。

透過能源轉型、各部門的減碳策略以及改變商業思維的邏輯，台灣會把減碳挑戰轉換成產業和就業的新機會

希望29年後的我們，對現在的我們不會說出「How dare you」，而是「Thank you」。

Twenty-nine years might not seem like a long time in the long history of the earth, but the next 29 years running up to 2050 could decide the future of everything living on the planet.

Whatever the transient conflicts between our countries, we know that we all share the same goals of slowing climate change by reducing carbon emissions.

President 蔡英文 Tsai Ing-wen announced today, on #EarthDay, that Taiwan is aiming for #ZeroEmissions by 2050!

And yesterday, MOFA Minister Joseph Wu was invited to give an address at the opening of a #Taiwan-#CzechRepublic round table on #ClimateChange and the #CircularEconomy on April 21, along with his firm friend #Prague Mayor Zdeněk Hřib - primátor Prahy.

In his pre-recorded address Minister Wu stated that climate change is not just an environmental issue, but is also a threat multiplier in terms of #HumanSecurity and #InternationalPeace. He added that he welcomes the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries on the basis of their comprehensive democratic partnership, praising Mayor Hřib’s efforts to work on the issue with the mayors of capitals of the #Visegrád4 countries.

In his own address, Mayor Hrib emphasized that given the inextricable ties between countries and regions around the world, we’re all #InTheSameBoat when it comes to the issue of climate change and that he hopes to share the Czech experience with #GreenInfrastructure and the circular economy with the government and the people of Taiwan.

Hopefully 29 years from now, we'll not be saying "How dare you!" but "Thank you!"

"#Prudence, #swiftness, #forethought and an abundance of #PublicTrust in government” were the driving factors behind Taiwan’s successful containment of the #COVID19 pandemic, according to a letter to WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros A. Ghebreyesus, signed by over 644 parliamentarians from 25 countries in #Europe.

The letter from our European friends urges the WHO to #IncludeTaiwan in its meetings, mechanisms and activities in the run up to the resumption of the 73rd World Health Assembly from November 9.

Despite its exclusion from this global disease prevention network, Taiwan has demonstrated its solidarity with the international community, donating masks, PPE and medical equipment to over 80 countries around the world, yet it is denied access to updated information on disease and border control measures and to the WHO COVID-19 Reference Laboratory Networks.
