Over the past few days, I have been going deep into the villages and tribes in Ethiopia with @Witness_Ethiopia experiencing something I could never imagine. ❤👍🏻
Seeing the makes me realised that the stories are real! People are really living according to their ancient beliefs and traditions. Some traditions or culture, I can't really accept or believe it still exist! Even the local government tried educating the tribes, they still want to remain to their culture! 😱
I gotta admit as a frequent traveller, and I've mentally prepared myself before visiting the tribes, it can still be overwhelming for me. 😭
I feel I need time to settle in these thoughts and feelings. 🙏🏻
I've gotten some toys from Singapore and bought some local sweets and candies for the children. It's absolutely shocking to see many children didn't even know what a toy car is and how to play it. Some of them probably don't even know or have not seen a car before. .
Certain tribes have a culture of premarital sex, which may cause young girls to be pregnant before marriage. In this case, the woman will have to abandon their baby at the bush. 😭
This caused many newborn babies to lose their lives! There are some gangs to take these babies and sell away. I can't imagine the children been eaten up by wildlife, or taken away by the thugs.
People over here has no identify card, no education, the basic needs such as food, water and shelter are already very challenging for them to obtain! 😱
It triggers me to reflect, what exactly are my needs and wants.
Despite, Ethiopia is truly a beautiful country. More to come.. ❤👍🏻
