In recent years it seems like many celebrities are becoming Christians after God met them at the lowest point in their lives.
He gave them influence for a purpose—to testify to the world about Jesus.
Everyone of us have a measure of influence: with our family, colleagues, church, social groups, community, media, worldwide, etc.
However large or limited your reach is, it has got to do with your calling. These people you are connected to and have influence with are the ones you are to testify about Jesus using your gifts.
All believers are called to fulfill the Great Commission in the power of the Holy Spirit going with us—that’s our wide calling:
“Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20 WEB)
That’s “what” we’re called to do.
Then there’s the question of “how”—the unique calling. The how is revealed by the gifts that the Holy Spirit has chosen for you.
An example: wealthy believers are called to be generous givers to supply the needs of of the impoverished (especially believers)—they are a channel of God’s supply in this world.
“Charge those who are rich in this present world that they not be haughty, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of eternal life.” (1 Timothy 6:17-19 WEB)
Can you see in the passage above that their eternal rewards are linked to their calling and the people they have influence over?
By giving generously—doing what they are called to do, wealthy believers are laying up a good foundation for their eternity, laying hold of a good quality of eternal life!
Dear brethren, eternal rewards are immeasurably greater than any riches of this earth.
Your eternal rewards are directly linked to you fulfilling your calling in this lifetime and your unique calling is revealed by the gifts that you have received.
We are seeing many key pieces of end-time prophecy being pieced together. It won’t be long before a new temple is built in Jerusalem, setting the stage for the Great Tribulation.
The Rapture draws ever nearer—it’s time to redeem the time and walk wisely!
