「だらしない人」や「いい加減な人」の英語表現
=================================
日本語の「だらしない」は、人の性格や容姿など様々なことに対して使える汎用性の高い言葉ですが、英語で「だらしない」を表現するとなると、用途に応じて様々な言い方が存在し、日本語の「だらしない」のように万能な一言はありません。しかし、数ある英表現の中でも、日本語の「だらしない」のニュアンスに最も近いと思われる表現があるのでご紹介いたします。

1) Sloppy
→「だらしない」

Sloppyは基本的に細かいことを適当にするいい加減な人や、物が散乱して汚らわしい様子などを表す場合に使われます。日本語の「だらしない」に最も相応しい英語になるでしょう。
✔食べ方が汚い人を「a sloppy eater」、いい加減な仕事を「Sloppy job」と表現する。
＜例文＞
You are sloppy.
（君はだらしないね。）
She is sloppy with money.
（彼女は金遣いがだらしない。）
This is a sloppy job. Do it over.
（いい加減な仕事ですね。やり直してください。）

2) Irresponsible
→「だらしない / いい加減」

外見でなく性格的なだらしなさを表すのにピッタリの表現がIrresponsibleです。いつも約束の時間に遅れる時間にルーズな人、約束をすっぽかしたりドタキャンする人、納期を守らない人、借りたものをきちんと返さないなど、いい加減で責任感のないような人のことを指します。
✔お金にだらしない人やいい加減な人を「Irresponble with money」や「financially irresponsible」と表現できる。
＜例文＞
How can you forget the appointment? You're so irresponsible!
（なんでアポの時間を忘れるの？本当にいい加減なんだから。）
She's going to flake out on you. She's pretty irresponsible.
（彼女はかなりいい加減やし、きっとドタキャンしよんで。）
I wouldn't trust him with money. He is financially irresponsible.
（お金のことは彼に任せない方がいいよ。彼はお金にルーズだからね。）
