At the age of four, this boy is spunky and cheeky yet genuine and sweet.
He wear his emotions on his sleeve, he gets into mischief from time to time, he likes to play rough and loves his guns and swords, he is boisterous and doesn't realise how loud he is most of the time, he follows his sisters in everything they do, he plays pranks on them and bullies them at times because he knows they dote on him, he tries to squirm his way out of doing chores yet dashes to help me if he sees me sad, he tells me to call him "Baby", he plants a hundred kisses on my face every night and lets me know just how much he loves me.
"I love you one thousand nineteen infinity", "I love you most most most most most", "I will always want to sleep beside you", "You are my favourite girl in the world", "You cannot go out to work because I love you and I want you here", "You are the best Mama in the world", "Next time 你老了, I take care of you" are some of the things he says that touch my heart, regardless of whether he truly means them or if he will even remember what he said when he grows up. Likely not. Haha.
He might be a little out of control at times, he might interrupt my every sentence, he might still barge in whenever I am in the bathroom, he might still need me to caress him at bedtime, but I love this boy, who is my ray of sunshine, to bits and the bond that we share as mother and son is a truly unique one.
Reminding myself to cherish these fleeting years when he is still Mama's boy and sticks to me wherever I go. Judging from how tall he is getting and how fast he is growing, it won't be long before he is going to spread his wings and soar high into the sky. Love you, dear Asher. ❤
P.S. This picture was taken last month during our photoshoot with @bloomphotographysg and I wanted to have some solo shots of the kids for keepsake. I was half expecting this boy to say "No, I don't want" but lo and behold, not only did he enthusiastically jump up when it was his turn, he also willingly did this suave crossed arms and legs pose when asked to. Awww, 真的是长大了.
