你知道只有台灣稱「帕運」嗎？
帕運英文全名「Paralympic Games」，是英文 Paralympic 由 Para + lympic 兩個字根組成，後者 lympic 源於奧林匹克（Olympic），前者 Para 最早取自下半身不遂（Paraplegia），如今已轉為 Parallel（平行）的含義，意為伴隨奧運而行的國際運動賽事。
在華文世界裡，中國、香港、澳門、馬來西亞和新加坡都譯作「殘疾人奧林匹克運動會」，簡稱「殘奧」，唯獨台灣按發音譯成「帕拉林匹克運動會」，簡稱「帕運」。
我相信這個譯名，是民進黨政府執政才改的，我以前好像沒聽過（有研究的朋友歡迎指正）。我想蔡英文總統執政這幾年，是台灣歷史上最進步、最平權的時期了。
網友幫補充：「2004 年採納民間團體呼籲改為音譯，當時由吳淑珍夫人帶團至雅典參賽。」（還是民進黨執政才會改變）

ELIGIBILITIES
1. Must abide by Chinese laws and regulations, be willing to serve the Games on a voluntary basis, and accept the guidance and supervision of Beijing 2022;
2. Must be minimum 18 years old on 1 January 2022 (born on or before 1 January 2004), and be in good health;
3. Must have the knowledge and skills required for their positions;
4. Must be able to effectively communicate in Chinese and/or English; and
5. Must be able to participate in all required training and provide volunteering services for the Games.

[有趣的英國法例] Sunday Trading Act 1994
星期日只可開店6小時
星期日要去買餸常常都要把握時間，
因為大部分的超市都會在4pm或5pm關門!
原來是有原因的!
1994年，英格蘭和威爾士立下了法例 Sunday Trading Act 1994, 店舖面積大於280平方米/3000平方呎的商店，在星期日只可以在10am至6pm之間連續營業6小時。
不同類型的商店，會選擇不同的時間。
⭕大型超市一般選擇開10am-4pm 或11am-5pm.
⭕零售業11am-5pm.
⭕牛津街的商店則開晚一點12pm-6pm.
蘇格蘭就不受這法例限制了。
而2012年倫敦奧運期間，通過了Sunday Trading (London Olympics Games and Paralympic Games) Act 2012, 暫停這個6小時規定有8星期時間。
這些年間，很多意見都認為應該容許商店在星期日開得更長時間，方便大眾購物。但議案一一在2014和2015年被投倒了。
還有一條Christmas Day (Trading) Act 2004, 禁止英格蘭及威爾士280平方米/3000平方呎以上的商店在聖誕節營業。
