Today’s video features a very ancient food in Sibu, Sarawak, the KomPyang (or Gongpia) served by a cafe which has a long history of 35 years. It is a traditional food which people used to string together the dry biscuit and wear it around their necks as a food reserve during war time. Having run the business for so many years and after serving countless number of customers, the boss has adapted and improvised the biscuit to serve customers from all ages by preparing both dry KomPyang and wet KomPyang (which is my personal preference). Follow me through this video and let’s have a look at the very interesting making process of this life-saving food.

今天这一期介绍的是砂拉越诗巫的一道历史悠久的美食，光饼。这光饼来历悠久，是战争时代人们用来维生的一个食品。光饼上有一个小洞，人么就把干光饼串成一条条的项链，以方便他们随身携带，方便在战争时代逃跑。这家光饼铺拥有35年的历史，为了满足各年龄的客户需求，老板除了售卖传统干光饼，也研发了一种是光饼）。跟着我一起通过这个影片来看一看这古代战争食品是如何做成的。

Today’s video features a very traditional cuisine, Bamboo Pork, or ‘Pansuh Babi’, in traditional Iban language. The stall is located in Sibu, Sarawak. Although the owner has commercialized the cuisine, he has tried to preserve the original taste of the cuisine by using a traditional grilling and roasting method and a complete range of spices, one of which I have never heard before and I bet you don’t too. The pork is roasted to a ‘magnifi’ tender served with a thick broth. Follow me through this video and have a ‘taste’ yourself.

Today’s video features a very famous Malaysian food, prawn mee, in Sibu, Sarawak. Apart from its authentic taste and thick broth which stimulated my smell receptors and taste bugs, what caught my attention are the gigantic Rajang River’s prawns that are served together with the noodles which perfectly complemented the stir-fried noodles and prawn shell broth. Believe me when I say it’s the number one prawn mee in Sibu and I dare you to challenge me after watching this video.

今天这一期介绍的是砂拉越诗巫最道地，最名副其实，最道地的美食 – 虾面。当老板把虾面呈上，那扑鼻而来的虾黄味及浓郁的虾壳汤已经无限刺激我的嗅觉和味觉。但最吸引我的是呈在面上的拉浪江大虾。大虾搭配传统的炒面及浓厚的虾壳汤，只能由粗俗的‘最有料虾面‘来形容这碗艺术。相信我，绝对没有夸张，这绝对是诗巫最有料的虾面。不相信我说的话？那就通过这个影片来一探究竟。
