oil for deep-frying
50g sliced carrots
50g sliced canned button mushrooms
150g minced pork marinate with:
1 tsp sesame oil
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 tsp light soy sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
Sauce:
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp chili bean paste
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp hua tiao wine (optional)
½ cup water
3 tbsp oil
30g chopped ginger
20g chopped garlic
10 medium size prawns (shelled)
1 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
½ tsp pepper
1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
2 eggs
chopped spring onions for garnish

The folks dabao @jinhockseafood zichar last Sunday when they came over to visit baby K 👶🏻 and the dishes were so good they decided to dabao other items today 😋 Overall the dishes were very flavorful and 重口味.
Super love their signature San Lou Bee Hoon, full of wok hei and midly 🌶 Shiok and Must Try!
The Kai Lan with shimeiji mushrooms were well done with lots of aromatic crispy dried shrimps and garlic slices. The stir fry brinjal and stir fry fish head with bittergourd were delicious too but a bit too salty. Need to pair them with white rice rather than bee hoon.
Just like to add on that their chye por tofu and coffee pork ribs we had last week are highly recommended too! 👍🏻

Quick Braised Tofu Pot 鸡蛋豆腐锅
Ingredients:
Serves 3 - 4 pax

320g (11.29 oz) egg tofu (or firm tofu)
1 shallot (chopped)
1 thumb-sized young ginger (chopped)
3 cloves garlic (chopped)
2 Chinese dried mushrooms (rehydrated & cut)
2 tablespoons spicy broad bean paste
0.5 tablespoon black bean paste
200g (7.05 oz) minced pork (can use minced chicken)
0.5 tsp sugar
60g (2.12 oz) carrots (sliced)
250ml (8.45 fl oz) water (feel free to add a little more water for slightly more sauce)
100g (3.53 oz) prawns (deshelled & deveined)
60g (2.12 oz) snow peas (can also replaced with broccoli)
Some cornstarch solution
1 beaten egg
1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine - Shaoxing Huatiao wine (optional but recommended)

Blood cockles - colloquially known as see hum or si hum - were really cheap back in the days. They used to be 50 cents (Singapore dollars) for a kilo but now it's about S$14 per kilo. See the difference? According to Channel News Asia, cockles are becoming more expensive because of pollution and over-harvesting. Hopefully with aquaculture, the supply of cockles can once again be bountiful. Due to the surge in pricing, usually it will cost you quite a bit if you were to order this at a food centre or restaurant. That's why we decided to share this recipe with you so that you can easily make this dish whenever you see cockles being sold at a market near you. If you are a fan of cockles from Putien Restaurant, you may want increase the amount of sugar used because their version is a lot sweeter than ours.
