｛ 番石榴衫 / 古巴襯衫 ｝
正式名稱為Guayabera，字源來自番石榴Guava(guayabas)，19世紀末期，約1880年古巴的文本即提到此襯衫，詳細的緣起已不可考，但最廣為流傳的說法，是一名貧窮的農婦為了便於耕作的老公運送番石榴，在襯衫縫上四個大大的平口袋，進而成為一種盛行於拉丁美洲的襯衫類型，而後發展出直紋壓線與刺繡裝飾，並推行至墨西哥，在當地甚至變成在婚禮上穿著的男士禮裝襯衫，因此也稱為Mexican wedding shirt，或稱Yucatán(Yucatan shirt)，而我們認為它更適合一個親切草根的名字—『番石榴衫』。

Anyway, this week I spent living in the remote Mayan village of Señor, Quintana Roo, located in the middle of the jungle in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, which is also known for such international tourist hotspots as Cancun and Tulum. Having seen my videos practicing the Mayan language here in Mexico, some people from the village invited me out here to experience true Mayan culture. So I decided to spend a week living in the village with a local Mayan family, practicing my Spanish and Mayan and just seeing what their traditional lifestyle is like. It was a totally different experience from being in Cancún or Tulum and it completely blew me away!
