Although the constitutional preferences of these regions are quite different (e.g. South Tyrolese emphasize autonomy, Padanians advocate federalism, Basques and Scots tend to separatism), most European sovereign states consider them threats to their authorities and therefore tend to keep silent or oppose Catalan referendum.
