ในขณะที่กำลังรอดู The Witcher ซีซั่นที่ 2 ที่กำลังจะมาปลายปีนี้กันอย่างใจดจดใจจ่อ และในเดือนนี้เอง ก็กำลังจะมีแอนิเมชั่นอย่าง The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf ให้ดูกันไป แต่เรื่องราวของ The Witcher ยังไม่หมดเพียงแค่นี้ Netflix เตรียมส่งซีรีส์ภาคแยก The Witcher: Blood Origin เหตุการณ์ก่อนซีรีส์ภาคหลัก ความยาว 6 ตอนให้ได้ดูกัน พร้อมได้ Michelle Yeoh (Crazy Rich Asian), Sophie Brown (Marcella) และ Laurence O’Fuarain (Vikings) มารับบทนำ

ล่าสุด Deadline รายงานว่า The Witcher: Blood Origin เริ่มถ่ายทำแล้วเป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว พร้อมได้ Lenny Henry จากซีรีส์ Lord of The Ring, Mirren Mack จาก The Nest, Nathaniel Curtis จาก It’s a Sin และ Dylan Moran Black Books มาร่วมแสดงอีกด้วย!

นอกจากนี้ยังได้ Sarah O’Gorman จากซีรีส์ Cursed มาทำหน้าที่เป็นผู้กำกับตอนที่
1,4 และ 6 ของซีรีส์ ส่วนตอนที่ 2,3 และ 5 นั้นจะกำกับโดย Vicky Jewson จาก Close

The Witcher: Blood Origin จะย้อนเวลาไป 1,200 ปีก่อนเรื่องราวของ Geralt of Rivia
โดยเล่าถึงการกำเนิดของ Witcher คนแรก และปรากฏการณ์ Conjunction of Speers ที่ได้รวมโลกของมนุษย์ เอล์ฟและสัตว์ประหลาดมาเป็นหนึ่งเดียว

Netflix คว้าสิทธิ์ภาคต่อ The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The Hollywood Reporter รายงานว่า Netflix ได้สิทธิ์หนังภาคใหม่ The Texas Chainsaw Massacre จาก Legendary Pictures เตรียมส่ง Leatherface ออกไล่เฉือดเลือดท่วมจอถึงบ้าน
โดยหนังภาคใหม่นี้จะอำนวยการสร้างโดย Fede Alvarez จาก Don't Breathe และ Rodolfo Sayagues มือเขียนบทจาก Evil Dead ฉบับรีเมค

โดยหนังภาคใหม่นี้จะเป็นภาคต่อโดยตรงจากหนังต้นฉบับเมื่อปี 1974 โดยจะเป็นเหตุการณ์ที่ห่างจากหนังภาคแรกหลายปี ซึ่งผู้คนไม่ได้เห็นหน้า และได้ยินข่าวเกี่ยวกับ Leatherface อีกเลยนับตั้งแต่เหตุการณ์สะเทือนขวัญในครั้งนั้น

นำแสดงโดย Elsie Fisher จาก Eighth Grade, Sarah Yarkin จาก Happy Death Day 2U, Jacob Latimore จาก The Maze Runner และ Moe Dunford จากซีรีส์ Vikings

เดิมทีแล้ว The Texas Chainsaw Massacre มีกำหนดฉายโรงในปีนี้ แต่หลังจาก Netflix ได้สิทธิ์ไป ต้องมารอลุ้นกันต่อว่า Netflix จะเตรียมปล่อยหนังลงสตรีมในช่วงไหน

ตามรายงานของเว็บไซต์ Variety ทาง Netflix ได้ว่าจ้าง Jeb Stuart มารับหน้าที่ในการเขียนบท ดัดแปลงสื่อเกมให้กลายเป็นซีรีส์คนแสดง โดยนอกจากภาพยนตร์ในตำนานอย่าง Die Hard แล้ว Jeb Stuart ยังเคยเขียนบทให้กับซีรีส์ Vikings: Valhalla บน Netflix มาแล้วด้วย และยังมีบทภาพยนตร์เรื่อง The Fugitive หรือ ขึ้นทำเนียบจับตาย ก็เป็นผลงานของเขาเช่นกัน

Netflix ประกาศสร้างซีรีส์คนแสดงของ Assassin's Creed เมื่อเดือนตุลาคมปีที่แล้ว โดยมีออกมาเพียงทีเซอร์สั้น ๆ และยังไม่มีข่าวคราวอะไรคืบหน้านัก ข่าวการว่าจ้าง Jeb Stuart มาเขียนบทนั้น ถือว่าเป็นการอัปเดตหลักแรก ๆ ของโปรเจกต์นี้

Ubisoft ยังมีอนิเมชั่น Spinter Cell ที่จะฉายทาง Netflix อยู่อีกเรื่อง และปล่อยภาพแรกออกมาแล้ว ส่วน Assassin's Creed นั้น จะออกมาเป็นรูปแบบไหน นักแสดงจะเป็นใคร หรือใครจะมากำกับก็ต้องรอติดตามข่าวคราวกันต่อไป
