1919年 注音字母39個字母 排列順序
1920年 正式加入字母「ㄜ」
1922年 原本在 左上 左下 右上 右下 的四聲符號（平上去入）統一改至注音字母 右方
1928年 再次更動字母順序
1930年 改稱「注音符號」
1932年 廢棄了3個注音符號 (發音輔助說明用 未列入正式符號表中) 及 加入 輕聲符號（˙）
