People tend to work longer hours nowadays. Working long hours has a negative effect on themselves their families and the society so working hours should be restricted. Do you agree or disagree?
Working longer hours is getting more common in today’s society. I personally believe that this trend not only has a severe impact on the workers themselves, but also on their families and the community as a whole. Therefore, I totally agree with the idea of limiting working hours.
A few decades ago, a person normally worked an average of eight hours per day. Average daily working hours in recent years, however, have significantly increased to ten or even fourteen. This, in my opinion, adversely affects employees’ health and productivity. For example, people who spend longer at work are more likely to suffer from various health issues, ranging from fatigue to more serious problems like anxiety disorders or even stroke . Failing health leads to more sick leave , poor work performance and low productivity. My cousin is a case in point. Working nearly twelve hours on a daily basis, he frequently feels exhausted and makes more errors at work than he used to.
I also think that extended hours of work has serious consequences for families and communities . At the family level, busy work schedules prevent people from taking frequent family trips or even just having meals together. Relationships among members are greatly weakened if they cannot make time for each other. In terms of community life, overworked people do not devote time to voluntary activity that brings benefits for their society. My uncle, for example, hardly has time for local community service projects such as conservation work or working with a charity because he works more than sixty hours per week.
In conclusion, I would argue that working time should be reduced since the frequency of long working hours exerts an adverse effect on employees, their family bonds and their community.

Above & Beyond’s first original collaboration single since 2010 (for those playing at home, that was ‘Anphonic’ with Kyau & Albert) sees the production powerhouse of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki link up with prolific San Franciscan, Spencer Brown.
‘Long Way From Home’ featuring the vocals of RBBTS (Anne Kalstrup & Hendrik Burkhard) is a gentle, melancholic wave of undulating melodies, underpinned by the quartet’s rounded, dancefloor-ready sound. Debuted at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 300 celebrations in Hong Kong, the song considers the experience of loneliness that besets many touring artists. Aptly, the first sketch of the track was laid down by Paavo and Spencer in a Melbourne hotel room - a very, very long way from home.
Says Paavo, “Both Spencer and myself know all too well what it's like being a touring musician.
Filled with totally amazing, high moments, but also lonely moments in hotel rooms far away from home. We'd both been travelling for hours feeling somewhat lost and lonely and ended up spending the day together talking about it all. Later that night, we found ourselves making a song about it all in a makeshift hotel room studio”
Spencer Brown has just finished a world tour with Above & Beyond, playing direct support to crowds across North America, Australasia and Europe. A star on the rise, Spencer is already a mainstay on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats imprint. The prolific 24 year old released his debut artist album, ‘Illusion Of Perfection’, on the label earlier this year.
Says Spencer, “ “Dream on little dreamer." A message that rung in my head after seeing Above & Beyond, as a fan, in 2014. After signing my music with Anjunabeats in 2016, our musical and personal relationship deepened. We’ve toured the world together. 青峰的聲線和弦樂的小提琴十分相配。
溫柔又憂傷的鋼琴前奏下，青峰勾人般的歌聲進來，航行在廣大的太空裡，如同我們太空的心。
希望我的小提琴可以演繹青峰想要表達的外在世界孤寂感與內心世界空洞感的寫實對照。
這首歌原來只有鋼琴與青峰的vocal，負責後製的混音師將兩軌聲音處理得像是合在一起，卻又充滿著距離，兩軌聲音空間感的位置不太一樣，就像兩個不同時空的人在對話，卻又觸碰不到彼此。
希望我的小提琴版本可以讓大家用耳朵來享受太空，在你們心中的太空傳遞溫暖力量，陪伴大家。

New cover video this week: space by Wu Qing Feng.
Qing Feng's voice just matches so well with the violin.
With the gentle and sorrowful piano prelude, Qing Feng's voice came in and together they both sailed in the vast space, as the empty in our heart.
Hope my violin interprets the delicate while realistic contrast between the sense of loneliness in the outer world and the emptiness in the inner world that Qing Feng wants to express through his voice.
There are only two tracks of the piano and vocal from Qing Feng in the song. The remixer responsible for the post production made the two-track sound like they are together, but full of distance. The positions of the two tracks are not the same, just like two from different time and space talking while unable to touch each other.
Enjoy my violin cover and enjoy the space in your ears. May my violin be with you in your space.
