【PTO Championship@Daytona
Gustav IDEN (NOR) 3:05:06
Matthew HANSON (USA) 3:05:57 (+0:51)
George GOODWIN (UK) 3:06:09 (+1:03)
Lionel SANDERS (CAN) 3:06:19 (+1:10)
Rudi VON BERG (USA) 3:06:41 (+1:35)
“I’m going to run as fast as possible now. It would have been easier if I had 21 kilometres left instead of 18, but I’m trying. I’ve nothing to lose.”
Haug kept promise and started to push the run, heading towards the second spot very soon. “I was even more motivated after the penalty. Paula had an amazing race, there was no chance to beat her today. I wanted to win here and everything you can cope for is putting your best performance out during the day and I really did.”

Life has been a rat race, we eventually forgot what matters most. Then Covid19 paid Earth a visit, infecting anybody it comes in contact with, whoever you are, wherever you are. It is indeed a wake-up call for all of us. To protect and provide for the ones you love, you first have to stay Alive and Healthy. Any other combination of these two is bad recipe.
I am sure you have come across people at any given time of your life, showing off how many packs of Nasi Lemak or Roti Canai they can eat in a meal. How many ‘rounds’ they ate in a buffet dinner. How many bottles of beers whiskies wine they can drink a night. The top speed they hit driving on a highway, even how many pack of cigarettes they smoke a day.
Why don’t we change that a little? Why don’t we start showing off things like, how many steps you did this week? How many KM you run or hike this month? How many burpees pushups or squats you did today? How much resting heart rate and blood pressure improved?
In collaboration with Aisportz , the latest fitness and wellness platform, we strive to encourage that change. Go on and register at www.AiSportz.com. First Day of Eid al-Adha @ IIUM
I started the very first day of Eid al-Adha at IIUM Mosque. Immediately, after the Eid prayer, everyone had the great occssion to wish everyone Eid Mubarak. As for me, I got an opportunity to meet with old friends amongst International staff who are still serving IIUM.
On the way to have the breakfast with International students at Kullyyah of Economics and Management Cafe, Br Rector and I stopped at Yemenis breakfast corner at the cafe of Kulliyyah of Education. We enjoyed the Yemenis flavour of breakfast. There were about 400 participants. Amazing.
We quickly excused ourselves to join the main breakfast session at KENM. I took the opportunity to go around the entire cafe to greet everyone and to have a little chat about Eid and their hometown and their study. Everyone was excited. I hope to sustain and to bring this environment to the next level. Diversity - which is God-made - was never a liability. The failure to engage with diversity is a liability which is man-made.
The last stop was at slaugthering area. The enviroment was so amazing. The students and staff are working together to manage this great ibadah event. The IIUM Mosque and one NGO from Germany (Hecene or Hasanah) have collectively contributed more than 30 cows. I was impressed with the whole environment that IIUM has been able to create for the last many years. Internationalisation core thrust of IIUM is working very well though there is room for improvement.
While walking with Tan Sri Rector from one place to another, we managed to talk about great ideas and insights. Amongst others, we feel that IIUM needs to create and promote social currency to complement the commercial side of volunterism work. We also mooted the idea to set up centre of excelllence to look into a few bottle- neck issues such as distribution of qurban meet to all (without any limitation of race and religion) and in looking at zakat as sosial transformative tool instead of religious-charitable work.
Wishing everyone Eid Mubarak...may Allah the Almighty accept our good deeds in the entire days of Eid al-Adha and Tashriq.
