FENDACE – WHAT’RE WE EXPECTING?

Như mình đã chia sẻ trong buổi Livestream hôm qua, các bạn hay là giới mộ điệu thời trang đừng kì vọng gì quá nhiều về sự đột phá trong bản hợp tác mới nhất Fendi và Versace. Có vẻ bản hợp tác cross-over logo giữa Balenciaga và Gucci trực thuộc nhà Kering đã làm nóng mặt nhà LVMH (Vốn là công ty mẹ của thương hiệu Fendi). Có vẻ Fendi và Versace hay đúng hơn là LVMH vẫn có 1 tiên quyết rõ ràng là thâm nhập thị trường giới trẻ và đặc biệt là thị trường Trung Quốc.

(Cho bạn nào hôm nọ hỏi giữa bốn kinh đô thời trang, bốn cứ điểm của mỗi tuần lễ thời trang trước giờ là London, NewYork, Paris và Milan thì ai mới là nhất. Mình xin trả lời Trung Quốc mới là nhất nhé, ShangHai sẽ làm điểm đến tương lai và quyết định nhiều thứ. Các thương hiệu làm runway, làm collection, làm đình làm đám để làm gì? Giới thiệu bộ sưu tập mới, đánh bóng tên tuổi, tăng độ nhận diện, tăng giá trị thương hiệu. Nhưng cái kết cuối cùng vẫn là bán hàng đúng không mọi người. Có người mua thì mới có doanh thu, có doanh thu thì mới có tiền sản xuất, có người mặc thì mới có nhiều người biết tới thương hiệu và mua nó. Chẳng có nơi nào hấp dẫn và béo bở nhất với thời trang cao cấp bằng thị trường Trung Quốc và người châu Á hiện tại cả?)

Đã tròn trèm 1 năm kể từ khi Kim Jones về với Fendi

Câu chuyện mà Kim Jones, người đang chèo lái phần Menswear của DIOR được nối nghiệp cụ ông quá cố vĩ đại Karl Lagerfeld – đảm nhận phần việc khi cụ Karl mất vào tháng 2 năm ngoái là Mr Jones sẽ chịu trách nhiệm cho các collection Haute couture, ready-to-wear và đặc biệt là đồ lông thú (Fur clothes) dành cho women’s wear. Xin nhắc thêm là đồ lông thú là một thương hiệu của Fendi dưới thời của Karl Lagerfeld trong suốt 54 năm cống hiến – “Fun Fur” là một khái niệm mà Karl đã đưa tới Fendi, đánh dấu những tàn tích còn sót lại của một thời trang giai cấp tư sản trong diễn biến đời sống văn minh hơn. Con người ở thế kỉ 21 đã nhận thức hơn rõ ràng về quá trình sản xuất đồ lông thú của ngành công nghiệp thời trang và thú thật rằng – lông thú đã không còn được chấp nhận nhiều và hợp mốt nữa (Giờ lông nhân tạo cũng có thể thay thế và tránh các cuộc điều tra, cãi vã và scandal không đáng có của việc bóc lột thú vật). Trong danh sách đề cử cho vị trí này, còn có cả giám đốc sáng tạo mảng đồ nữ của DIOR là Maria Grazia Chiuri, nhưng LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton – công ty chủ quản của Fendi – với cái đầu đầy tính toán của Bernard Arnault thừa sức biết rằng, cái tên của Kim Jones là hợp lí hơn cả.

Vì sao ư?

Hãy cùng quay lại với ngành công nghiệp thời trang mùa dịch Covid 19. Với diễn biến phức tạp khiến nhiều thành phố lớn, trong đó có các kinh đô thời trang và cả thị trường màu mỡ của ngành thời trang cao cấp là Trung Hoa Dân Quốc – LVMH đã báo cáo tổng doanh thu nửa đầu năm của mình giảm mạnh với 27% so với cùng kì năm ngoái ( 27 phần trăm tương đương với 21.6 tỷ đô), với khoảng thời gian mua sắm cho dịp Hè là tháng tư và tháng 6 (3 tháng) thì số tiền suy giảm là 9.2 tỷ đô (38%). Cho dù vậy, lượng hàng mua sắm online lại là một điểm sáng trong một môi trường kinh tế bị khủng hoảng nặng thời Covid – đủ khiến LVMH vẫn có thể lạc quan về một khả năng phục hồi tốt. Đoán xem – sự lạc quan này đến từ đâu, đúng rồi, đến từ hai thương hiệu lớn của họ là Louis Vuitton và Dior.

Và – chúng ta cùng nhắc lại, sao Louis Vuitton và Dior lại có thể gồng gánh LVMH tại thời điểm hiện tại? Ai đứng sau những bộ sưu tập đấy. À, còn ai vào đây nữa – ông trùm tạo xu hướng Virgil Abloh cho LV Men’s Wear và nhân vật của chúng ta, Kim Jones cho Dior Men’s Wear.

Bối cảnh lợi nhuận ròng giảm tới 84% còn 613 triệu dollar theo thống kê của Wall Street Journal từ LVMH được cho rằng là do tập đoàn này phải gồng gánh quá nhiều chi phí cho các thương hiệu mà họ sở hữu. Gánh nặng này còn tăng hơn khi chi phí về mặt bằng, các trung tâm thương mại đóng cửa khiến các mặt hàng chủ lực và đòi hỏi xem trực tiếp nhiều như túi xách, nước hoa, đồng hồ, phụ kiện và trang sức không thể nào tiếp cận được với khách hàng. Con đường chủ lực nhất và cứu cánh cho các nhãn hàng thời trang hiện tại là thông qua kênh online hay thương mại điện tử. Để có được sự thu hút nhất, cần những cái tên hot nhất. Virgil Abloh với các kĩ năng truyền thông của mình – đã làm tốt điều đó (Mới đây là vụ lùm xùm với Walter đó). Còn Kim Jones thì sao, ông luôn biết cách khiến người khác nói về mình – DIOR vẫn bán rất tốt nhờ bám sát xu hướng và tạo hyped – thông qua collaboration đắt tiền giữa DIOR và NIKE. Và cũng đó là lí do vì sao LVMH chọn Kim Jones chứ không phải là Maria Chiuri.
Fendi – trong cơn khủng hoảng này, dù trong giai đoạn 2018-2019 vẫn được xướng danh cho các thương hiệu được tìm kiếm online nhiều nhất. Trở lại xu hướng, với logo double F (FF) vào thời điểm logomania nắm trọn thị trường thì Fendi cũng có chỗ đứng nào đó trong việc kinh doanh thời trang. Nhưng khi logomania không còn là hơi thở chung nữa, Fendi lại trở lại sự cổ điển/sang trọng đậm chất tư sản của nó. Fendi cần một người khiến công chúng, dư luận tò mò – nhắc tới và cũng thỏa mãn được cái nhìn của những vị chuyên gia thời trang, khi cái bóng của cụ Karl Lagerfeld là quá lớn. Virgil hoàn toàn không phù hợp cho 1 vị trí đậm chất “Da trắng” này, Kim Jones – với tầm nhìn thoáng hơn Maria Chiuri (Vốn dĩ đã từng cống hiến rất nhiều cho Fendi từ năm 1989 với chiếc túi bánh mì Baguette) và một thời gian dài (7 năm cho LV, hơn 2 năm cho DIOR) cống hiến cho LVMH – hoàn toàn phù hợp hơn cả. LVMH đã tính toán cho việc sử dụng Kim Jones như 1 kim bài mở cửa thành công mới và cơ hội cho Fendi khi mà Silvia Fendi vẫn tiếp tục quản lí đồng hành (Nhưng thế là không đủ).

Sự thành công của Dior tại hiện tại cho nên mình không lấy gì làm quá lạ và cũng không ngạc nhiên khi Fendace được công bố. Ngay trong đầu mình đã suy nghĩ về việc chắc kết hợp logo FF vốn dĩ được ưa chuộng trước giờ cũng với kiểu cách của Versace thì nó diễn ra gần như với dự đoán mà chắc ai cũng có thể có một cái nhìn lờ mờ rồi. Dior của Kim Jones thời điểm hiện tại cũng phát triển mạnh mẽ dựa trên những kiểu Oblique mà một thời John Galliano từng phát triển lên và đạt thành công. Công thức này hẳn sẽ được áp dụng cho Fendi x Versace như 1 điều tiên quyết để thâm nhập thị trường Châu Á (Ở đây là Trung Quốc).
Rõ ràng màu sắc ánh kim của Versace rất hợp với thị trường Trung Quốc, vốn dĩ xem màu vàng là màu của thượng tôn – của hoàng đế, của bậc vua chúa vô thượng. Giá trị thương hiệu mang lại cho họ giá trị thể hiện bản thân.

Một thực tế rằng, dù Kim Jones quay lại Fendi nhưng chưa có một động thái nào có thể khiến thương hiệu này có 1 cú hit đánh đều cả hai mặt trận truyền thông – thiết kế hay cả thương mại. Thì đây, sau 1 năm thì Fendace có thể được xem là tiền đề để mang hai brands đang tìm cách tiếp cận sâu hơn thị trường Á Châu – Trung Quốc bằng hoàng kim và logo.

Whipped cream or ice cream filling is really good. It adds vanilla flavor and sweetness. Makes it moist and super delicious. Must try!

French Crullers are the top-selling donut at Mister Donut (donut shop) in Japan. Simple sugar glaze is my kids' favorite but in this video they ended up playing with the cream 😅

2-Ingredient French Crullers

Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 15min
Number of servings: 3 (3-Inch-round 1.5-Inch-height)

Ingredients:
160g (5.6oz.) Tempura flour https://amzn.to/3BXYIMp
4 tbsp. mayonnaise https://amzn.to/3yTRmHX
100ml water

deep frying oil
powdered sugar (confectioner's sugar)
whipped cream

Directions:
1. Put Tempura flour, mayonnaise, and 100ml water in a bowl and mix well with a spatula.
2. Transfer the batter into a pastry bag fitted with a large (0.6inch) star tip (Do NOT use a round tip or the batter will explode!!!). Pipe out 2 layers of rings onto a parchment paper.
3. Deep fry in oil at 180C (350F) until crisp golden brown.
4. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with sugar glaze (mix 3 tbsp. powdered sugar & 1 tsp. water). You can slice and place whipped cream or ice cream between the layers if you like!

I haven't tried but I think you can bake in oven at 180C (350F) for 15 minutes.
