ปรับปรุงขนานใหญ่แบบฟรี ๆ กันอีกครั้งสำหรับ No Man's Sky ที่คราวนี้เป็นการเพิ่มของใหม่เข้าไปแบบมหาศาลพร้อมยกเครื่องระบบการเล่นใหม่เพียบ ซึ่งเป็นเวอร์ชั่น 3.0 แล้วนั่นเอง

โดยในเกมเวอร์ชั่น 3.0 ที่มีชื่อเรียกว่า Origins นี้มีจุดเด่นในการอัปเดตดังต่อไปนี้

- ดวงดาวใหม่ให้สำรวจมากมายมากกว่าล้านดวงในระบบสุริยจักรวาลใหม่ที่เพิ่มเข้าไปอย่างมากมาย
- ระบบสุริยะใหม่จะมีการสุ่มดวงดาวเข้าไปในระบบมากขึ้น ทำให้การเดินทางระหว่างดวงดาวมีความหลากหลายมากขึ้น
- ระบบสุ่มสภาพแวดล้อมในดวงดาวแบบใหม่ ที่มีการสร้างภูเขา พื้นที่กว้างที่น่าดึงดูดใจมากกว่าเดิม และยังมีความหลากหลายมากขึ้นด้วย

- เพิ่ม Photo Mode ให้ผู้เล่นถ่ายรูปพร้อมปรับแต่งภาพได้ตามใจชอบ
- สิ่งก่อสร้างแบบ Colossal ขนาดมหึมา เป็นทั้งแหล่งที่อยู่อาศัยของเอเลี่ยนพร้อมกับเปิดพื้นที่ให้สำรวจได้อิสระ พร้อมเรียนรู้เรื่องราวที่ซ่อนอยู่ในนั้น
