We all share a pandemic-filled joint experience; the urgent fervour and need for better #mentalhealth support.
However, it’s terribly unfortunate that our national budget for psychiatric and mental health services have seen a decrease this year; when sufficient mental health support is needed by everyone - regardless their partisan stripes.
Once Parliament reconvenes, I hope to again push for the need to decriminalise attempted suicide; supporting the request by the Mental Health Advisory Council, urging the government to repeal Section 309 of the Penal Code; which involves attempted suicide, a crime which is punishable by up to a year in jail, a fine or both.
