Wishing that I could enjoy the colours of autumn in Europe right about now, but the best I can do at present is enjoy fall colours on my plate. 😅
I think I’ve officially had one of the best lamb dishes in my life though, with this dish at Art, a brand new restaurant at National Gallery Singapore. This absolutely delicious Te Mana Lamb Loin is served with Viola Artichokes Sauce, Fairy Tale Eggplant & Vin Cotto. So yums.

2018 年度最喜歡餐廳
National Kitchen by Violet Oon @Singapore
淡水今晚冷颼颼,
這個時候,
有什麼比總結今年更好的活動呢?
愈是冷,益發想念今年熱騰騰的新加坡之旅,
說實在的,
出發前對新加坡的印象還是不免俗的海南雞飯和肉骨茶,
娘惹菜在飲食的華文世界裡真的比較低調,
沒想到一家位於National Gallery 新加坡國家美術館裡的餐廳,
會成為我今年的Star restaurant.
外婆和媽咪是印尼華僑,
小時候有過一些印尼菜的經驗,
但因為入鄉隨俗,
爸爸又比較傳統口味,
家裡的餐桌遂變得客家+粵菜為主,
印尼風逐漸退場。
娘惹菜在我家餐桌就只剩過年時的椰漿咖哩雞。
第一次到新加坡,
我決定尋找真正的娘惹菜,
得到新加坡好友的印證,
National Kitchen by Violet Oon是很值得嘗試的所在,
但到步才訂桌,我們差一點訂不到,
要不是入住的Intercontinental Singapore Robertson Quay Hotel 幫忙訂桌,
我的結婚紀念大餐可能吃不上呢!
位於美術館裡的National Kitchen by Violet Oon,
以黑色為主調,裝潢是典雅的Classic風格,
深得我心。
打開Menu,
第一頁就有念茲在茲的加多加多沙拉,
上桌的樣子跟回憶不大一樣,多了一點高雅的氛圍,
炸豆腐,馬鈴薯,椰菜,雞蛋,蝦片,椰漿糕,
沙拉醬裡有濃厚的花生,乾蔥頭的香,很美味。
碳烤沙嗲更是一絕,
雞肉很新鮮,用鳳梨點綴的沙嗲醬會讓人上癮。
最精彩的,
是他們家招牌的巴東牛肉 Beef Rendang.
我們的新加坡好友知道我們去,
第一個問題,
就是問我們有沒有吃這一道,”It’s the best there, um… Yum .’’
果不其然,
入口即化,
從來沒有吃過這個模樣的巴東牛肉,
連少吃辣的姐姐也跟我們說非常嫩,
很好吃。
除了在傳統中昇華的娘惹菜,
National Kitchen的服務好到讓我意外,
因為我們的結婚週年,服務生A問可不可以幫我們拍張照留念,
拍完竟出奇不意地打印好還裱框送給我們,
可能有人覺得是老梗,
但他的笑容與誠懇,
讓我們非常快樂,
我想,
最好的服務,就是這種。
在國家的美術館裡有那麼好的餐廳,
真是國家的福氣,
My Singaporean friends, you should be proud!
