The Subtlety or The Marvelous Sugar Baby by Kara Wlaker
非裔女性藝術家Kara Walker, 是美國重要的當代藝術先驅之一。今年五月，座落在一片廢墟之中並即將拆除的布魯克林多米諾糖廠（Brooklyn’s Domino Sugar Factory），Kara 對這棟建築進行反思而創作的一個大型雕塑展覽。
此次作品名為 “A Subtlety, or the Marvelous Sugar Baby”，反映美國南北戰爭前南部製糖業的非洲裔童工所受到的不平等待遇，超時低薪在並付出大量勞力工作的悲慘故事。令人震撼的的裸身巨型獅身人像Sphinx，用白砂糖把非洲裔女性的身軀呈現的唯妙唯俏，圍繞在Sphinx周圍的小男生也用焦糖來雕塑，栩栩如生，由於看見當年無數的童工在工廠身心都受到迫害的模樣。是今年絕對不可錯過的展覽之一!
