Given it’s the #YearOfThePig, it’s maybe not a big surprise that our cloven-hooved friends have featured heavily in the #LanternFestival celebrations 🏮. The MOFA Taiwan Fellowship scholars have been enjoying the spectacle and tell us it brings back memories of festivals in their own countries. One of them, Gabor Hera from #Hungary, told us that pigs are auspicious animals in his homeland and that, for this reason, pork is a must for New Year meals! Hungary is also home to these cute Mangalitsa pigs! #SheepPig

The unique hairy 🇭🇺 Hungarian Mangalica/Mangalitsa pork has a fairly unique taste, distinct from say Iberico or any Black Berkshire, it has some wild boar flavors & was apparently re-bred & brought out of extinction only in recent years again. In Hong Kong I have tried it in a few restaurants, including Chinese places but some places that make it into Charsiu has lost its original flavors advantage. Here at Michelin Starred 🌟 【Spring Moon 嘉麟樓】, not only was the Rice Cheung Fan wrapped nicely thin transparent but I found them to succeed in retaining the original gamey & wild taste of this unique Pork DNA. HKD $108, it is quite bold in nature but I still recommend it for sharing, coz this is something you don’t get easily in the world 🌎😍
