Hi everyone, I rearranged the song "A Million Dreams' by Ziv Zaifman, Hugh Jackman & Michelle Williams,
it is one of my favourite songs from the movie "The Greatest Showman".

make up one's mind to V.....
旋元佑有一個觀點...第一次看到真的讓我非常shock.....
或許我看的書不多吧..但這個看法我只在他的書看到過.....
關於to V 以及 Ving之間的差別....
首先他說一句話....我以上面的句子來說好了...
I make up my mind to become a good student.
這句話所表示的意思是說~我要下定決心來"成為"一個好學生....
因為下定決心來"成為"~所以此時我還沒成為....
這時要用to V~來表示一個還沒發生~不確定的事情...
上句可以看成這樣~I make up my mind that I will become a good student.
此時要補充的是...助動詞 will, should,can,may,must都有一個to V的片語來對應...
will = be going to
should = ought to
can = be able to
may = be probably to
must = have to
所以上面的句子可以這樣改寫...
I make up my mind that I will become a good student.
= I make up my mind that I am going to become a good student.
再來對於句中的相同主詞予以省略~由於省略要連同(主詞+be動詞)一起省略...
所以把I,am 省略~此時that也可一併移出...這時剩下的going其實並不代表任何意義...
所以把沒意義的字也提出來...(不知道這裡有沒有講錯)
於是便出現了 I make up my mind to become a good student.
至於Ving的句子....
I regret playing a joke on her.
同樣先把句子還原...
I regret that I was playing a joke on her.
一樣把主詞+be動詞省略~連同that也移出來...
於是I regret playing a joke on her.
當然這個句子不一定一開始就是進行式...
I regret that I played a joke on her.
此時要省略句子~第一步要先製造一個be動詞出來~以便之後的移出.....
於是補了一個was~再將後面原先的動詞改為動名詞.....
於是句子就變成原來看到的那樣了......
Ving的差別在於這件事情已經發生了...所以我"後悔"的事情是一件發生的事...
而to V則反之....代表一個希望~願望......
大概是這樣.......手上沒書....有書的人或許能解釋的更好......
最後附上一些常用的接to V以及Ving的動詞..書上還有附口訣咧..
必須接動名詞的動詞：
我之所以能 避免 後悔 這得 感謝 朋友給我 建議： 繼續 練習 以 完成 冒險 大業
avoid regret appreciate suggest keep practice finish risk
repent
我為了 逃避 給人 討厭 ：我 否認 他人 介意 ，承認 自己的 失誤 ，請求 原諒。
escape dislike deny mind admit miss excuse
接不定詞者：
她 假裝 很 注意 地 選擇 生日禮物給媽媽，其實 希望 媽媽能夠 同意 ,
pretend care choose hope agree
並且 答應 她的 決定 。
