環球影業董事長湯姆．波拉克（Tom Pollock）辭世，享壽77歲。他早年以律師身分為喬治．盧卡斯（George Lucas）成功談到了《星際大戰 Star Wars》的續集版權和周邊商品銷售權，這後來被稱為影史上影響力最深遠的談判之一。在環球影業擔任董事長期間，他親自監督了《回到未來 Back to the Future》系列、《侏羅紀公園 Jurassic Park》（1993）、《辛德勒名單 Schindler's List》（1993）等片的製作。

湯姆．波拉克出生於加州洛杉磯，出身於猶太人世家。在畢業於史丹佛大學之後進入哥倫比亞大學法學院進修，於1967年取得法學博士學位。1968年，波拉克進入電影業，他當時是美國電影學院創始人、知名導演喬治．史蒂文斯（George Stevens）的助理。1970年，他創辦了律師事務所，專接電影界客戶，其中包括當時正在製作《五百年後 THX 1138》（1971）的喬治．盧卡斯（George Lucas）。

當時喬治．盧卡斯因為《美國風情畫 American Graffiti》（1973）獲取票房成功，波拉克以此為籌碼，向福斯爭取到當時尚未問世的《星際大戰》的續集版權。不過波拉克受訪時不忘提醒大家：「要知道，最初的協商不像大家想像那樣，都不是為了錢。會有這些談判只是喬治為了確保他能拍出他想要的電影。」

如果波拉克當時談判失敗，喬治．盧卡斯將可能無法主導《星際大戰》續集的拍攝，盧卡斯影業也將無從取得龐大的收入，更沒有後來迪士尼收購事件的發生。後來隨著首集大獲成功，波拉克又進行了下一場著名的談判，即要求商品銷售權，為了達到目的，他們同意續集發行權供福斯所有。他再次帶領盧卡斯打了一場勝仗。

1986年，波拉克離開了律師事務所，在MCA公司擔任執行副總裁，並在其環球影業擔任董事長。他在任職期間主導了兩百多部電影的發行，全球票房破百億美元，包括刷新當時票房紀錄的《侏羅紀公園》。其中也有七部電影獲得奧斯卡最佳影片提名，包括《夢幻成真 Field of Dreams》（1989）、《辛德勒名單》、《女人香 Scent of a Woman》（1992）等作。

RTHK: Security law suspects shocked to be on 'wanted' list

Hong Kong activists who've been named on a list of people wanted for violating the SAR's new National Security Law have reacted with surprise, with one pointing out that he is an American citizen.

State media reported on Friday that Hong Kong police had issued arrest warrants for six prominent pro-democracy figures, all of whom are now overseas, for allegedly inciting secession and colluding with foreign forces.

One of the six, Samuel Chu of the Hong Kong Democracy Council, said on Saturday that he had been an American citizen for almost 25 years.

"If the reports are true, the Hong Kong police is issuing an arrest warrant against an American citizen for advocating and lobbying my own government," he said in a statement.

"Let me be very clear – I might be the first non-Chinese citizen to be targeted, but I will not be the last. If I am targeted, any American and any citizen of any nation who speaks out for Hong Kong can, and will be, too. We are all Hong Kongers now."

朱牧民指，自己是首名被《香港國安法》通緝的非中國公民，他又相信自己不會成為最後一人，「如果我成為目標，任何為香港發聲的美國人，以至任何國家的人將來都可以成為目標」，「現在我們大家都是香港人」。
