This pic was taken in 1990 during my Medicine days at Manipal University - 29 years ago .
Met my friend again during my recent trip to Kuching .
Those were the days when you were just 18 years old leaving to study in India feeling totally excited under JPA Scholarship .
I used to wear pants with multiple colours even Red , sneakers , tuck in jeans trying to impress the girls - Haha
Wanted to buy a motorbike back then but Dad bought me a bicycle instead ... Dad say it’s too dangerous . Being rebellious , I saved my allowance for 4 years before buying my own bike - Bullet Enfield Emerald Green .
Medicine is not just about studying but lots of parties , fun and excitement .
Mixing with my American friends whom took turns on giving attendance for us when we woke up late .
Breakfast with Purées & Parothas with Chutneys every morning .
Those were the days ...
But I was always a good student - First Class Honours all the way .

PS - All Medicine student out there ... This surely not an example to follow . Study smart and keep up with your syllabus on a daily basis.
Medicine is certainly the best profession out there ...

Pic - Science is the future .
I can never stress the importance of Science .
Every year 300-400 less students are taking Science in our country and is certainly a worrying trend .
I blame it on our teachers and our System Education .
I remembered struggling with Physics during my SPM days because I found it boring . My teacher used to send me out of the Class several times and made me stand by the window .
Things changed when I was doing my A-Level under JPA Scholarship where I find the teacher exciting and the subject stimulating .
For students , it’s all about the teachers .
I feel Sciences subjects should be done outside the Class with lots of hands-on experiments .
Make it exciting and fun be it Biology , Chemistry or Physics .
Some of the teachers I met said their hands are full and unable to do so - which I agree .
Our Education System needs to be changed . Teachers are still struggling in which direction to go .
Our Maths & Science teaching in English keep on dallying back and forth .
Students and parents are lost and kept in the dark .
Pointing fingers and blaming others .
Even the Standard of English in our country is subpar .
Not surprisingly many parents are opting to send their children to a private School .
Certainly a worrying trend .
Sad but it’s true ...

This is such a disgusting mentality!

1) Women are NOT sex toys. You can’t just offer help and say it’s common for them to give you sex in return!
2) Women are NOT OBLIGATED to be with men to live a good life. There can be and have ALWAYS been successful, brave & independent women around!

If any man think they’re above and beyond all women, please do yourself a favor and consult a therapist. This guy is a future DR and I hope no one ever finds the need to seek for his advice. Everyone DESERVES to be treated rightly regardless of their age, gender, skin color, race, caste or religion.

You were nurtured in the WOMB of a WOMAN. Never for once think it is OKAY to disrespect or belittle a woman SIMPLY BECAUSE you are a MAN. That is a sick mentality that should be destroyed once and for all!

This soon to be doctor should not be even in the same building as female patients .

If IMU doesn't do anything , as a fellow JPA Alumni, I suggest his scholarship be reviewed .

You disgrace us !
Grades are not everything !

I've had colleagues who were excellent doctors whose JPA scholarship was retracted due to poor grades .
Poor grades can be rectified .
Sick attitudes can't .

Ok harini i nak share cara macam mana nak sambung belajar oversea untuk postgraduate. Postgraduate ni maksudnya untuk Master or PHD. Untuk postgraduate ni, banyak effort sendirilah. I harap apa yang i share ni bermanfaat.
