身為香港人，喬寶寶跟很多打工仔一樣，深深體會到樓價太貴、貧富懸殊對社會造成的傷害。「如果有屋住，誰會喜歡住工廈和劏房？其實香港人只要有個安樂窩，怨氣會少好多，但當局的政策總是向大商家傾斜，無視中下階層的苦況，難怪香港人常常要上街遊行了。」他又慨嘆，很多富有特色的本土小店如大牌檔、雜貨店逐漸「被消失」，或迫於無奈轉為樓上舖，屋村的街巿和店舖又被上巿公司接管，導致大集團壟斷，令很多人「冇啖好食」：「住得屋邨的，無不期望街巿平民化，你卻偏偏逼人食鮑魚，榨乾人家的血汗錢，這是甚麼道理？」他希望政府可以借鏡其他地區，多為市民着想，高官們甚至應該來一場真人Show，試試住劏房、去超巿看看物價多貴，就算是做Show，至少讓人知道他們體驗過，不要再那麼離地……

Ordinary people can’t afford to own a home, but rents are also skyrocketing beyond their reach.
In 1973, the government imposed the rent control measures.
Hong Kong’s dubious honour of having the world’s highest priced property puts private home ownership beyond the reach of many. Instead, heavily subsidised public housing is the main choice for young low-income couples, the elderly, and singles hoping to rent a flat, but there is a severe shortage of such homes.
Rent control was abolished in 1998 after the Hong Kong property market was battered by the Asian financial crisis.
The majority of the residential housing developments in Singapore are publicly governed and developed. As of 31 March 2015, 82% of the resident population live in such lease accommodation, a drop from the 87% peak in 1988–1990. In 1973, the government imposed the rent control measures. When the previous contract has come to an end, the law prohibited landlords from raising the rent above 90 percent of the prevailing market rate within the next two years. It also barred them from raising the rent more than 30 percent when they negotiate a new lease contract with the tenant. It also required them to extend the contract with existing tenants who were willing to pay the rent.
